A load bearing and/or suspension system, having a harness element; harness straps extending from the harness element; a pair of suspension members, wherein each suspension member extends from a pair of harness straps; a ladder lock buckle attached or coupled to each suspension member; a pair of webbing segments, wherein a free end of each webbing segment interacts with one of the ladder lock buckles such that when the free end of the webbing segment is urged away from the ladder lock buckle, a second end of the webbing segment is drawn toward the ladder lock buckle; and a belt attachment element attached or coupled to the second end of the webbing segment.

A holster having a body defining a cavity for receiving at least a portion of a weapon, the body comprising a pair of opposed side walls; a hood assembly pivotably connected to the body, wherein the hood assembly is pivotable between an open position and a closed position; a lock mechanism for maintaining the hood assembly in the closed position; a finger/thumb release associated with the lock mechanism for releasing the hood assembly from the closed position; and at least one pivot arm that extends from the hood assembly to a pivot plate, wherein the pivot plate automatically pivots the hood assembly to the closed position such that to the lock mechanism is automatically engaged as a forward face of a trigger guard of an inserted weapon urges the pivot plate.

A holster for a weapon, the holster having a hood assembly pivotably connected to the body of the holster, wherein the hood assembly is pivotable between a closed position for securing the weapon within the holster and an open position for insertion or removal of the weapon; a locking mechanism securing the hood assembly in the closed position when a weapon is held in the body cavity; a release mechanism associated with the locking means for releasing the hood assembly to the open position for removal of the weapon; and a mechanism for automatically pivoting the hood assembly to the closed position and thereby automatically engaging the locking means upon insertion of the weapon into the body cavity, wherein the mechanism for automatically pivoting the hood assembly includes at least one pivot arm that extends from the hood assembly to a pivot plate.

A paddle for securing at least one holster or accessory carrier at a desired attitude, the paddle including an attachment plate, a first arcuate slot defined through the attachment plate, a second arcuate slot defined through the attachment plate, a compound slot defined through the attachment plate below the first and second slots, wherein fastening means are capable of engaging points of attachment defined on a holster or accessory carrier, and wherein a relative angle of the holster or accessory carrier to the attachment plate is adjustable by coordinated adjustment of the fastening means within each of the first arcuate slot, the second arcuate slot, and the compound slot.
