The present invention relates to new pseudopolymorphic forms of 2-&lsqb;2-&lsqb;4-&lsqb;bis (4-fluorophenyl)methyl&rsqb;-1-piperazinyl&rsqb;ethoxy&rsqb;acetic acid dihydrochloride, namely, anhydrous 2-&lsqb;2-&lsqb;4-&lsqb;bis(4-fluorophenyl)methyl&rsqb;-1-piperazinyl&rsqb;ethoxy&rsqb;acetic acid dihydrochloride and 2-&lsqb;2-&lsqb;4-&lsqb;bis(4-fluorophenyl)methyl&rsqb;-1-piperazinyl&rsqb;ethoxy&rsqb;acetic acid dihydrochloride monohydrate. It also relates to processes for the preparation of these pseudopolymorphic forms and to pharmaceutical compositions containing them.
