This disclosure describes techniques for managing and/or regulating access, by applications executing in a cloud environment, to network resources operating outside of the cloud environment. In one example, this disclosure describes receiving, from a first application executing in a cloud environment, a first request to be delivered to an off-cloud network resource; receiving, from a second application executing in the cloud environment, a second request to be delivered to the off-cloud network resource; and managing, based on a policy, delivery of the first request and the second request to the off-cloud network resource.

This disclosure describes techniques including assessing trust in a computer network. In one example, this disclosure describes a method that includes determining a level of trust that a first network entity has for a second network entity; determining a level of trust that the second network entity has for a third network entity; determining that the first network entity is separated from the third network entity by the second network entity; determining, based on the level of trust that the first network entity has for the second network entity and further based on the level of trust that the second network entity has for the third network entity, a level of trust that the first network entity has for the third network entity; and enabling, based on the level of trust that the first network entity has for the third network entity, the first network entity to perform an operation.

Inferring trust in computer networks

This disclosure describes techniques that include assessing trust in a system, and in particular, assessing trust by performing a sentiment analysis for an entity or device within a system. In one example, this disclosure describes a method that includes performing, by a computing system and based on information collected about a network entity in a computer network, a sentiment analysis associated with the network entity; determining, by the computing system and based on the sentiment analysis, a trust score for the network entity; and modifying, by the computing system and based on the trust score for the network entity, network operations within the computer network.
