A method, computer system, and a computer program product for cognitive template question formation and execution is provided. The present invention may include receiving a dynamic template question. The present invention may also include mapping the received template question to a type. The present invention may then include mapping the received template question to a data source. The present invention may further include forming a template question based on the mapped template question. The present invention may also include triggering, in response to a triggering event, a query based on the formed template question. The present invention may then include executing the triggered query.

Cognitive template question system

In a computer, a first set of object classes are provided representing active entities in an information-handling process and a second set of object classes are provided representing data and rules in the information-handling process. At least one object class has rules associated with data. The invention has the advantage of identifying opportunities to reduce privacy-related risks, including identifying unnecessary exchanges of data, for possible elimination, and identifying opportunities to transform data into a less sensitive form. Privacy agreements are based on a limited set of privacy-related actions: access, disclose, release, notify, utilize, update, withdrawConsent, giveConsent, delete, anonymize, depersonalize, and repersonalize. One aspect of the present invention is a method for improving the handling of personally identifiable information. Using a privacy agreement framework to improve handling of personally identifiable information

The present invention is a system and method for handling personally identifiable information, using a rules model. The invention involves defining a limited number of privacy-related actions regarding personally identifiable information; constructing a rule for each circumstance in which one of said privacy-related actions may be taken or must be taken; allowing for the input of dynamic contextual information to precisely specify the condition for evaluation of a rule; creating a programming object containing at least one of said rules; associating the programming object with personally identifiable information; processing a request; and providing an output. The invention does not merely give a 'yes-or-no answer. The invention has the advantage of being able to specify additional actions that must be taken. Using a rules model to improve handling of personally identifiable information

An online coupon issuing and redemption system and method receives requests for coupons from consumers, presents advertisements and issues coupons to consumers electronically. The system presents advertisements before issuing the coupons, such that an issuer may be assured its targeted consumer are receiving its advertisements. The coupons are issued on a smart card, thereby eliminating a need for paper coupons. The coupons are digitally signed in order to prevent fraud. In order to prevent further fraudulent tampering of coupons, the redemption station includes a tamper-protected coprocessor for performing operations on the coupons. The system further includes capability for the redemption station to link to an issuing station for electronic reimbursements.

Authenticated electronic coupon issuing and redemption

A method, article of manufacture and computer product is presented for a vehicle customization, restriction, and data logging capability. The invention leverages the increasing electronic content in vehicles by interconnecting these electronic devices with a controller. It further uses a storage device in the vehicle, to store vehicle customizations and/or restrictions, and to provide capability for defining and logging significant vehicle events. Combining the electronic vehicle components with a storage device (sometimes in the form of a smart card or floppy disk, etc.) and a controller in a vehicle network enables providing operator specific settings for each of a set of vehicle operators. These customizations add to operator and passenger comfort and safety. It also enables application of setting restrictions to and logging the vehicles use parameters. These add previously unavailable tools to entities as diverse as a parent monitoring a teen driver, a company or government agency regulating a truck driver, an operator training facility, a vessel captain or pilot, a rental car company setting terms for a car rental and handling returns off line, and a car owner relinquishing the vehicle to a parking lot attendant.

Method, system and computer program product for collaboratively processing a data object in a client-server hierarchy based on meta-information associated with the object. Processing results are indicated by the server that performed the processing as updates to the meta-information associated with the data object. The PICS protocol may be used to communicate the meta-information. Digital signing and authentication of the object and associated meta-information are also described. Further, servers can determine processing by considering various factors, e.g., their current load condition; if the object is to be multicast; if the object can be cached; and/or if the specified cost and time constraints can be met. The overall processing applied to data objects can be divided between servers based on object types, steps, functions, software packages or versions/releases. Other aspects of the invention are also described.

Collaborative server processing of content and meta-information with application to virus checking in a server network

A method insures the NETBIOS names are not illegally used on a local area network. The NETBIOS protocols use a naming system that allows any station to claim a name or set of names that are not already in use. This potentially allows any user to 'masquerade' as another user, or service machine, by claiming the name when the real user is not connected to the network. This method detects these attempted masquerades, disconnects the offending station from the network, and logs information about the attempt.
