Examples of the present disclosure relate to techniques for new algorithms for 3D graphics texturing and rendering. More specifically, embodiments relate to 'Chroma Fract Rendering' (referred to as CF) that take advantage of the relative insensitivity of the human eye-brain systems for chrominance versus luminance, to reduce the macro-sized bandwidth and overall calculation requirements.

Methods and systems for graphics texturing and rendering

Systems, methods and apparatus related to a motorized platform for use in creating three dimensional images. The motorized platform includes a symmetrical steering system such that a digital camera remains focused upon a desired image target as the motorized platform is advanced. The symmetrical steering system includes a three-wheel arrangement providing a constant radius path around the image target. A pair of steerable wheels located on an inside edge of the motorized platform are operably connected with a steering linkage assembly such that the steerable wheels are angularly adjusted to define the constant radius path. A drive wheel is operably connected to a motor assembly for propelling the motorized platform along the constant radius path. A digital camera can be mounted to a tripod attached to the motorized platform and the digital camera can be operably controlled either manually or automatically as the motorized platform is advanced.

3D rover camera system and method

A 3D camera system and method for generating a 3D picture from real 3D input pictures. The system includes one or more cameras, a robotic or manually driven moving platform on which the camera or cameras are adjustably mounted. The system is moved on a fan-shaped grating sheet in a format, such as curved or linear format, to produce accurate trigger signals for camera exposure at precise intervals, i.e. pictures of an object are taken at predetermined locations at precise intervals. Alternatively, an optical encoder and programmable divider can be used to trigger the cameras at programmable precise intervals. Also, a stepper or servo motor that moves the camera platform can be used to move the cameras to precise locations.

3D camera system and method

Electrostatically charged graphic sheets are additionally provided with a preapplied activatable adhesive. Such sheets may be oriented on a display substrate using the electrostatically induced adhesion, and more securely fastened to the display substrate using the activatable adhesive.

Methods and systems for curing radiation-curable inks printed on substrates using inkjet printheads are disclosed. The methods and systems include radiation sources that are either integral with a printer or that can be added to an existing printer. In either case, the radiation source preferably moves independently of the printhead to provide the desired electromagnetic curing energy to the printed ink. The radiation source and the printhead may be mounted separately and move independently such that the mass of the printhead is not significantly increased.

A process for forming an image on a transparent or translucent substrate comprising the steps of providing an imageable element comprising a transparent or translucent glass or polymeric film having a coating of a black metal on one surface thereof, directing radiation in an imagewise distributed pattern at said black metal layer with sufficient intensity to substantially increase the light transmissivity of the medium in the irradiated region in an imagewise distributed pattern, said element having no layers comprising a thermally activated gas-generating composition. This invention relates to an ink jet printing sheet having a particle filled ink receptor layer and a particle filled protective penetrant layer. The particles from both the ink receptor layer and protective penetrant layer cause protrusions from the protective penetrant layer.

An image receptor medium including an image reception layer having two major opposing surfaces. The image reception layer comprises an acid- or acid/acrylate-modified ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) resin. Alternatively, the image receptor medium includes a substrate layer comprising a polymer substrate layer having two major opposing surfaces and an image reception layer on a first major surface of the substrate layer. The image reception layer has an outer surface for receiving images, and comprises an acid- or acid/acrylate-modified ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) resin. Either embodiment of the image receptor medium may further include an optional prime layer, an optional adhesive layer, and an optional inkjet layer.

A laser scanner apparatus using a laser reference beam that is directed to and scans a grating plate which is used for producing a data clock for the apparatus. The grating plate has a line grating formed by a plurality of lines that are equally spaced along the scan of the grating plate by the laser reference beam. The plurality of lines, if extended, intersect at a single point. The grating plate can have more than one such line grating.

The printer disclosed converts electronic information into human readable information by an imaging device comprising a laser diode which is a source of coherent monochromatic radiation requiring very low power to expose a sensitized sheet. The radiation from the laser diode may scan a focal plane on which the radiation is focused by an objective lens and compounded curved mirror such as a parabolic mirror. The medium for the image is a zinc oxide sensitized sheet.
