A wireless communication device generates content-delivery data indicating stored media content, content-delivery interface capability, tethered media devices, and Internet Protocol (IP) address data for the wireless communication device and for the tethered media devices. The wireless communication device wirelessly transfers the content-delivery data to a wireless communication network for delivery to a content distribution network. The wireless communication device transfers at least a portion of the stored media content to the wireless communication network for subsequent content delivery.

Content-delivery footprint and capabilities data transfer from wireless communication devices

A wireless communication network serves media content to a wireless communication device. The wireless communication network receives registration notices for the wireless communication device from Downstream Content Delivery Networks (dCDNs) when the wireless communication device registers with the dCDNs. The wireless communication network receives CDN signaling from an Upstream Content Delivery Network (uCDN) for one of the multiple dCDNs when the wireless communication device registers with the uCDN. The wireless communication network selects one of the dCDNs for the wireless communication device. The wireless communication network transfers the CDN signaling to the selected one of the dCDNs. The uCDN transfers media content to the dCDN and the dCDN transfers the media content to the wireless communication device.

Content delivery network request handling in wireless communication systems

A data processing system facilitates content-delivery to a wireless communication device over a plurality of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs). The data system receives Internet Protocol (IP) address data sets characterizing IP access to the wireless communication device through one or more IP access networks. The data system receives one or more CDN identifiers indicating active ones of the CDNs for the wireless communication device on the IP access networks. The data system processes the IP address data sets and the CDN identifiers to identify a network address for one of the CDNs and a content-delivery interface from the one CDN to the wireless communication device. The data system transfers network data indicating the wireless communication device, the network address to the one CDN, and the content-delivery interface.

Distribution of media content to wireless communication devices

A wireless access network receives Content Delivery Network (CDN) registration data transferred by a plurality of CDNs. The registration data associates individual wireless communication device identifiers for individual wireless communication devices with individual CDNs. The wireless access network receives CDN signaling from an external data system indicating one of the individual wireless communication device identifiers for an individual one of the wireless communication devices. In response, the wireless access network processes the individual wireless communication device identifier from the external system to identify an associated CDN. The wireless access network then transfers at least a portion of the CDN signaling for delivery to the identified CDN.

The invention is directed to methods and systems for facilitating access of a mobile device to web-based services. The web-based service sends identifying information, such as a public IP address and a port number, to a network interface. The network server, which has stored a mapping of the mobile device's private IP address to public IP address, is accessed to determine the private IP address of the mobile device. As the mobile device that requested access to the web-based service is now identified, the mobile device is now allowed to receive data from the web-based service.

Facilitating access of a mobile device to a web-based service using a network interface

A wireless user device is served by a wireless network that performs Network Address Translation (NAT). The wireless user device exchanges user data using a device IP address and a network gateway exchanges the user data with external systems using an external IP address. The user device receives network information that indicates a network server and queries the network server for IP address translation data. The user device receives the IP address translation data from the network server that indicates that the external IP address is associated with the device IP address for the wireless user device. The user device transfers content delivery footprint data to a content delivery network. The content delivery footprint data indicates media content stored on the user device and indicates that the external IP address is associated with the device IP address for the user device.

Discovery of network address allocations and translations in wireless communication systems

A communication system provides selective access to target wireless communication devices. A naming server system receives naming system registration messages from target wireless communication devices and address requests from user devices. The naming server system determines if the current time is within the access schedule for the target wireless communication device. If the current time is within the access schedule for the target wireless communication device, then the naming server system returns the address for the target wireless communication device. If the current time is not within the access schedule for the target wireless communication device, then the naming server system will respond with a timeframe when the target wireless communication device will be available for access.

Communication system to provide selective access to a wireless communication device

A communication network allocates internal Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to wireless communication devices and translates between external IP addresses and the internal IP addresses to transfer data communications between the wireless communication devices and data communication systems. The communication network receives discovery requests for the wireless communication devices and responsively transfers discovery responses describing the IP address allocations and translations for individual wireless communication devices. The communication network receives content delivery footprint data indicating the IP address allocations and translations for the wireless communication devices and transfers the content delivery footprint data to a content distribution network.

In a packet communication system, a PCRF processes communication policy data to generate a communication policy instruction and a user notice. The PCRF transfers the communication policy instruction for delivery to a packet gateway system. The PCRF transfers the user notice for delivery to an ANDSF. The ANDSF processes the user notice to generate and transfer a data file for delivery to a user communication device that displays the user notice based on the data file. The packet gateway system processes the communication policy instruction to filter packets exchanged with the user communication device.

PCRF/ANDSF interaction in a communication network

An IP multimedia subsystem comprises a CSCF and an HSS. The CSCF is configured to receive a SIP registration message transferred by a user communication device and responsively transfer a registration request to the HSS. The HSS is configured to process the registration request to obtain IFC for the user communication device, wherein the IFC comprises processing instructions that direct the CSCF to perform an operation to dynamically obtain and load data into the IFC. The CSCF is configured to receive a SIP invite message transferred by the user communication device, process text from the SIP invite message against a set of keywords to determine a dynamic parameter based on a keyword match, process one of the processing instructions in the IFC to obtain and load the dynamic parameter into the IFC, process the IFC with the dynamic parameter to determine a communication session parameter, and transfer a SIP message with the communication session parameter responsive to the SIP invite message.

Dynamic determination of initial filter criteria

In a communication system, a control server determines a first quota for a rating group to grant communication usage on a per-user basis and indicates the first quota to a network element. The network element grants communication usage to the users in the rating group based on the first quota. A user communication device receives a user input indicating a user priority and transfers the user priority to the network element. The network element transfers the user priority to the control server. The control server processes the user priority to determine a second quota for the rating group. The network element receives the second quota and grants subsequent communication usage to the users in the rating group based on the second quota.

Communication usage control for a group of users

A communication system provides selective access to target wireless communication devices. Methods are provided for assigning a static IPv6 address to a mobile device by accessing a database to determine whether a static IPv6 address is stored in the database for that mobile device. A mobile device communicates a request for a static IPv6 address, and it is then determined that a static IPv6 address is defined in a customer-profile database in association with the mobile device. The network portion and the host portion of the static IPv6 address are sent to the mobile device so that the mobile device is able to communicate by way of a communications network.

Assigning internet protocol addresses in a network

Systems and methods are provided herein for transferring an active voice call to a packet communication network. In a particular embodiment, a method provides establishing a voice call having an initial signaling channel and an initial voice channel between a first wireless device and a second wireless device over a first and second wireless access system. The method further includes establishing a new signaling channel for the voice call between the first wireless device and a separate packet network. Also, the method provides extending the new signaling channel for the voice call from the separate packet network to the second wireless access system over the first wireless access system. Furthermore, the method includes using the new signaling channel to establish a new voice channel for the voice call over the separate packet network, wherein the first wireless access system remains in the new signaling channel.
