A cooling device for a rotating machine has a fan assembly coupled with a backing plate. A hub, on the backing plate, secures the cooling device with a shaft. The backing plate includes one or more vents to enable air to exit the cooling device. The fan includes an opening to enable air to enter the cooling device. A chamber is formed between the fan assembly and the backing plate. During rotation, air is drawn into the opening. The air is passed into the chamber and exits through the vents to cool a work surface or working pad attached to the backing plate.

Cooling device for a rotating polishing disk

An imaging assembly is provided comprising an x-ray tube housing having a tube mounting hub and formed from a lightweight material. A rotating gantry assembly includes a gantry mounting surface adapted to engage said tube mounting hub. A plurality of barrel nut fasteners secure the tube mounting hub to the gantry mounting surface while reducing stress in said x-ray tube housing.

X-ray tube mounting methodology

The present invention relates to a wetness monitoring system that includes a data collection device that sends wetness measurement data to a central computer that detects changes in wetness measurement data caused by the presence of urine or other dielectric fluids. The data collection device includes a semi-reusable sensor and reusable data collector that are worn on a garment of the person. The data collector includes an internal power source so that the person can live a normal ambulatory life. The data collector has an electrical circuit that uses the changing resistance characteristics in the sensor to gather wetness measurement data. The data collector periodically generates and transmits a signal containing the actual wetness measurement data. The signals are coded to identify the particular data collector or person sending the signal. The data collector is programmed to conserve power by sending signals less frequently during periods when the sensor is clearly dry. Signals are sent more frequently when the sensor is damp or a wetness event may have occurred. The central computer receives the signals containing the wetness measurement data and compares the measurement data to an adjustable wetness sensitivity level to determine if a wetness event has occurred. When the central computer determines that a wetness event has occurred, the computer displays the name of the particular person wearing the data collector and the approximate time that the wetness event occurred. The system then pages an appropriate healthcare worker to inform them that the particular individual needs attention and tracks the approximate response times to ensure that the patient is continuously receiving prompt care.

Wetness monitoring system

An X-Ray tube is provided. The X-Ray tube includes a frame structure surrounding at least a portion of an electron beam source and an electron beam target. The frame structure has a cooling system integrated therein. The cooling system includes at least one air/fin layer; and a sub-cooled working fluid in thermal contact with the at least one air/fin layer, the sub-cooled working fluid being adapted to undergo a phase change in response to heat introduced to the frame structure by one or more of the electron beam source and the electron beam target, wherein the phase change facilitates transfer of the heat to the at least one air/fin layer.

Systems and apparatus for integrated X-Ray tube cooling

A cooling system to cool the x-ray tube of a CT imaging system. The heat exchanger has a curved sector shape which provides a larger surface area for heat dissipation within the cover of the gantry. The axis of the cooling fans is preferably parallel to the rotational axis of the gantry.

Optimized x-ray tube cooling device

A heat exchanger, together with one or more associated fans, is positioned on the rotating gantry frame in order to cool the x-ray tube of a CT imaging system. An air deflector is positioned on or adjacent to the heat exchanger in order to prevent recirculatoin of heated air in the ganty.

An overflow vessel () is fluidically coupled to the compensation tank (). A computed tomography ('CT') gantry cooling system including a gantry housing defining a gantry chamber, wherein the gantry housing includes a lower portion, an upper portion, and a gantry cover disposed adjacent to the upper portion of the gantry housing. The CT gantry cooling system also including a fan disposed within the gantry cover of the gantry housing, wherein the fan is operable for forcing cooling air into the gantry chamber and creating a positive pressure within the gantry chamber. The CT gantry cooling system further including a vent disposed within the gantry cover of the gantry housing, wherein the vent is operable for exhausting heated air from the gantry chamber.

Low angle high speed image tube

An x-ray system with an x-ray generating device having improved heat dissipation capabilities. The x-ray generating device includes an x-ray tube mounted in a casing holding a circulating, cooling medium. According to the present invention, the x-ray generating device includes a support mechanism mounted within the x-ray generating device in a manner for adjustably positioning, relative to the casing, the focal spot alignment path of generated x-rays. Additionally, the x-ray generating device includes a cooling mechanism having an inlet chamber for channeling the cooling medium within the support mechanism. Additionally, a cooling stem may be positioned within the inlet chamber to increase the heat exchange surface area exposed to the cooling medium. Thus, the present invention advantageously increases the heat dissipation capability of the x-ray generating device.

X-ray tube having increased cooling capabilities

A connector between an x-ray tube and high voltage source. An epoxy-filled housing is connected to the casing or housing of an x-ray tube or vacuum vessel. A high conductivity silicone gasket is positioned between the ceramic insulator of the x-ray tube and the epoxy material in the housing. Air is evacuated in the joint between the connector housing and x-ray tube vessel and a vacuum created therein. Appropriate seals are positioned maintaining the integrity of the vacuum. Spring-loaded attachment bolts are also utilized to secure the connector housing and vacuum vessel casing together.
