Holistic cybernetic vehicle control enables the results of machine sensing and decision making to be communicated to a vehicle operator through the various senses of the operator. By providing machine advice to the operator through various vehicle functions and by integrating the machine advice with what the operator senses and perceives, holistic cybernetic control can result in much better and safer vehicle operation. The invention integrates human and machine vehicle control action to improve vehicle operation and, particularly, to avoid collision events.

Holistic cybernetic vehicle control

A medical device delivery system comprises an inner tube, a medical device disposed about a portion of the distal region of the inner tube, a medical device sheath disposed about the medical device, a medical device sheath retraction device extending proximally from the medical device sheath and an outer sheath disposed about a portion of the medical device sheath retraction device. The distal end of the outer sheath terminates at least one medical device length proximal of the medical device. The medical device sheath is movable relative to the outer sheath and relative to the inner tube.

Medical device delivery system

An Electronically Interactive Target Game to be played indoors by children, wherein the target is a flexible sheet hung on a wall or attached to a portable stand; and has mural-like artwork on the sheet portraying characters playing an action sport. A projectile corresponding to the portrayed sport is thrown at the target. Selected area rigid surfaces, each with a sensor, are attached behind selected areas of the sheet and, when struck, activate audible and visual signals that relate to the success of the child hitting the selected areas to facilitate the fantasy of actually playing a game with the characters in the artwork. A vibration sensor may be attached to the target sheet to detect contact of the projectile with the rest of the target outside of the selected areas. Hook and loop material may be used on the ball and on a selected area (e.g., mitt).

Electronically interactive target game

The place and find toy, generally a doll or stuffed animal, has a circuit with a programmable computer controlled voice synthesizer. The circuit of the toy, when activated by an on-switch, synthesizes a first series of phrases to encourage a human player to find it. When the toy is subsequently found and moved, a motion activated switch causes the synthesizer to stop the first series of phrases and start a second series of phrases. The second series of phrases thanks and/or praises the player who finds the toy. The circuit then turns off the toy until the cycle is restarted by activating the on-switch. Optionally, a programmed delay time causes a delay from when the on-switch is activated until the motion activated switch is enabled.

Place and find toy

An improved design drawing device for drawing amorphous patterns is disclosed. The drawing device contains a segmented flexible guide comprised of segments covered with a soft plastic or rubber or rubber type surface piece. The segments each consist of a male ratchet and a female ratchet, which snap together, wherein the size of the designs created are determined by the number of segments used to create the design. When the segments are attached together, they ratchet relative other so as to lock their positions in place. The drawing device also comprises at least one solid wheel disk which is rotatable about the inner circumference wall of the segmented flexible guide, and at least one hole through the solid wheel disk through which a drawing implement is positionable, wherein the solid wheel disk is rotatable about the inner circumference wall or outer circumference wall of the segmented flexible guide when the drawing implement is positioned through the hole positioned through the solid wheel disk, thereby forming a patterned drawing. As the wheel disk revolves around the inner surface of the segmented flexible guide, the teeth of the wheel disk enter the surface of the segmented flexible guide at right angles to lock into the surface of the segmented flexible guide.

Design drawing device

The present invention proposes a toy vehicle powered and propelled by a launching device. More specifically, the invention includes a toy vehicle, preferably about three inches long, with a flywheel at its midpoint. The body, chassis, wheel and other parts are preferably plastic. The flywheel, however, is preferably a non-ferrous metal, and most preferably a diecast zinc metal. In one embodiment of the invention, the toy vehicle is placed in the launching device. The vehicle rolls down a ramp to a car stop. Magnets in the flywheel activate a switch that turns on an electromagnet, causing the flywheel to accelerate. When the vehicle reaches the vehicle stop of the launcher, the flywheel is spinning and magnets on the flywheel activate a reed switch that turns on an electromagnet each time a magnet passes the reed switch. The reed switch, acting as a commutator along with the magnets in the flywheel, creates the effect of a D.C. motor. When the shifter is moved into a specific gear setting, preferably fourth gear, the vehicle stop is lowered and the vehicle accelerates off the ramp.

Toy auto racing power shifter and car

A toy segmented ring suitable for tossing and game playing and having a generally annular shape defined by an augmented perimeter encompassing a plurality of flexible flaps surrounding a central orifice. The flaps will flex in response to lift forces which materialize as the ring is spinning during flight and will billow to provide a parachute effect on descent. These structural features add accuracy, ease of catching and interest to games and activities employing the ring.

Flying segmented ring

An improved design drawing device for drawing amorphous patterns is disclosed. The drawing device contains at least one flexible guide bendable into any desired shape and having an outer circumference wall and an inner circumference wall, at least one solid wheel disk which is rotatable about the inner circumference wall of the flexible guide, at least one hole through the solid wheel disk through which a drawing implement is positionable, wherein the solid wheel disk is rotatable about the inner circumference wall or outer circumference wall of the flexible guide when the drawing implement is positioned through the hole positioned through the solid wheel disk, thereby forming a patterned drawing. The flexible guide is made of a soft plastic which preferably surrounds a flexible bar. As the wheel disk revolves around the inner surface of the flexible guide, the teeth of the wheel disk enter the surface of the flexible guide at right angles to lock into the surface of the flexible guide.

Drawing device

A talking book including a power source, switches, voice chips and speaker, all of which are mounted within the book and act together to 'read' the words written on pages of the book. The switches are pressure-sensitive types, and marked areas on the pages are pressed in order to activate the switches and the chips in order to produce words or other sounds.

Talking book

A toy figure in the form of a doll contains therein an acceleration switch which, when closed by moving the doll, momentarily connects a battery to a microcomputer. By means of a microphone and a zero-crossing counting technique, the microcomputer, although the voice signal constituting the input thereto is not truly representative of the particular words being spoken by the child, generally recognizes several basic words. A voice synthesizer has a number of words stored therein, the microcomputer forwarding various digital codes calling for certain words to be constructed and emitted via a small speaker in the doll's body. Several time restraints are utilized to inactivate the circuitry and to elicit voice responses. The doll recognizes words sounding like Yes, No, or What, and in response randomly selects from three corresponding memory banks a response statement.

Talk back doll

The device comprises a casing composed of a bottom tray having an upstanding pivot post and a hinged cover having an open window. Three concentric flat rings have partial designs embossed thereon to provide raised design portions, the inner ring being rotatable about the post, the intermediate ring rotatable about the inner ring and the outer ring rotatable about the intermediate ring. By individually rotating or angularly positioning the rings relative to each other, any of the partial designs can be radially aligned to form a composite design. After the composite design has been formed, a piece of paper is placed over at least the segments constituting the preselected design. Closing of the cover on the tray clamps the rings in a fixed relation with each other so that the user can then rub a marking implement, such as a colored pencil or crayon, over the portion of the paper appearing in the open window in order to transfer the preselected design onto the overlying paper.

Device for making preselected composite designs

The manipulator includes an internally toothed ring, an externally toothed wheel, and a cam arm. The wheel and arm, which function in a 'master' capacity, have registerable holes for accommodating the tip of a ballpoint pen so that a primary line design is created as the ballpoint pen is manually moved over a sheet of paper while maintaining the wheel teeth in mesh with the ring teeth. The ring has at least one pivot post projecting upwardly into a slot in the cam arm to cause the cam arm to function in a 'slave' capacity so that a fiber-tipped pen gripped by the cam arm produces a secondary line design at the same time the primary line design is being produced.
