A method of indexing individual slides of a presentation comprises selecting a slide of a presentation, determining one or more words in the selected slide, counting the number of occurrences of each determined word in the selected slide and storing an identifier for the selected slide, the identifier comprising a set of pairs of the determined words and counted occurrences of the respective word.

The present disclosure is directed towards a multimedia system comprising a multimedia reader. The multimedia reader may be configured to read multimedia content and to extract light surround content. The light surround content may represent a light surround control signal. A method and system of position determination using image deformation is provided. One implementation involves receiving an image of a visual tag, the image captured by an image capturing device, wherein the visual tag has a predefined position associated therewith; based on the image determining a distance of the image capturing device from the visual tag, and determining an angular position of the image capturing device relative to the visual tag; and determining position of the image capturing device based on said distance and said angular position.

The present invention discloses a system and a method for transmitting DTMF signals over high speed digital networks using voice compression algorithms, and particularly to a system for ensuring the integrity of DTMF signals at the destination node of a network after compression and decompression of data on a voice connection. A DTMF Detector is placed in parallel with a voice compression unit performing the compression algorithm. When a candidate DTMF signal is detected, the signal component at the higher frequency in the candidate is filtered out to eliminate the possibility of double DTMF detection at end user equipment. When the candidate DTMF signal is finally validated by the source node as representing a true DTMF signal, only the data essential for reconstituting the DTMF signal are transferred to the destination node.

Method and system for transmitting a DTMF signal with compressed voice in a packet switching network

Method and apparatus allows accurate detection of voice presence on a digitized communication line even in the presence of tone signals. The method includes analyzing digitized communication input signals by current blocks of 20ms, to define the stationary or non stationary state of any current block. Then an analysis on the states of the M last 20ms blocks allows the final decision on voice presence.
