Applicants have disclosed an adjustable modular trigger assembly, and a related method, to avoid an unexpected firing of a long gun after an unintentional trigger pull. Applicants' preferred assembly comprises: a modular trigger housing, containing every trigger component, designed to be removably mounted within a lower firearm receiver; a trigger pull adjustment screw in a housing wall; and a sear force adjustment screw in another housing wall. During an intentional trigger pull, the shooter's finger pushes against a secondary trigger until it nestles within a slot of a non-coaxial primary trigger. Continued pulling on both triggers causes a sear to fall off a hammer notch and the firearm to discharge. In an unintentional trigger pull or jostling of the primary trigger, hooked protrusions (within the housing) of the second trigger and hammer engage to block the hammer from fully rotating, thereby avoiding discharge of the firearm.

When the clamp and locking bar are engaged with a firearm, access to, and use of, the firearm is restricted. The clamp can comprise a third arm projecting therefrom to prevent complete cycling of the firearm action.

Lockable firearm safety device

Disclosed is a lockable safety device for use with a firearm. The device comprises an elongated body with opposing large and small ends. The small end is inserted through the firearm receiver and secured external to the firearm receiver. The large end is sized to prevent movement through the firearm receiver. The small end is configured to accommodate a locking device. When the device is engaged with a firearm, access to, and use of, the firearm is restricted.

Disclosed is a lockable safety device for use with a firearm. The device comprises a clamp or bracket that is engageable with a locking bar. When the clamp and locking bar are engaged with a firearm, access to, and use of, the firearm is restricted. The clamp can comprise a third arm projecting therefrom to prevent complete cycling of the firearm action.

A muzzle loading firearm having a tubular receiver for retaining an axially movable hammer and a cocking handle assembly for moving the hammer to a cocked position. The hammer has a first body portion having a laterally extending slot and an engagement portion for receiving and engaging the sear. The cocking handle assembly is comprised of a cocking handle block disposed in the hammer slot and a cocking handle. A cocking handle return spring biases the cocking handle assembly towards a forward position. A hammer spring biases the hammer towards the percussion cap. The hammer is cocked by moving the cocking handle assembly to a rear position against the force of the cocking handle return spring. The rear surface of the cocking handle block engages the rear surface of the hammer slot, moving the hammer to the limit of rearward travel and allowing the sear to be received by the hammer engagement portion. The cocking handle return spring and the hammer spring urge the cocking handle assembly into the forward position and the hammer into engagement with the sear upon release of the cocking handle. Upon firing, the sear releases the hammer and the hammer spring urges the hammer into engagement with the percussion cap.

Cocking mechanism for a muzzle loading firearm

A marine hull inlet assembly for providing a watertight inlet in the hull of a boat to provide a connection point for shore-based power lines, communication lines, and the like. The inlet assembly includes a receptacle member and a sealing assembly. The sealing assembly includes top and bottom covers pivotally connected together with the top cover having a gasket which is pressed against the receptacle for providing the watertight seal. The top and bottom covers are releasably coupled by a latch assembly. The latch assembly is spring-biased so that the top and bottom covers are biased toward each other when in the latched position. The latch assembly may either have a push-type latching element or a quarter turn-type latching element.
