The present invention relates to dextrin-based food-grade adhesives containing minor amounts of xanthan, or carboxymethylcellulose or combinations thereof. An improved cooling technique can be used with the thin film drying method by applying the hot dried molasses and honey to a cold, rotating cylinder, and then collecting the cooled product from the cylinder.
