A transmission control linkage for positioning elements in a transmission housing in response to selector movement between at least four positions, and characterized in that two different selector positions correspond to the same positions of the elements in the housing. The linkage typically has three links, including a first link, a second link pivotally connected to the first link at a primary pivot, a third link pivotally connected to the second link at a secondary pivot; a linkage carrier means; and the first and third links pivotally mounted relative to the carrier means at tertiary and fourth pivots for causing the third link to rotate counterclockwise through an angular range .alpha. and then to rotate clockwise through an angular range .beta., in response to counterclockwise rotation of the first link through an angular range .alpha..

Transmission linkage

Apparatus for transferring door opening or closing motion, in response to displacement of a door handle, comprises a mounting structure; the door handle carried by the mounting structure for push or pull displacement toward or away from the mounting structure; a rotary output element carried by the mounting structure; and motion transfer elements operable between the handle and the output element to effect rotation of the output element in response to the displacement of the door handle.

Retractable door handle motion transfer mechanism

Apparatus for transferring door opening or closing motion, in response to operation of a door handle, comprises: a mounting structure; first, second and third elements carried by the mounting structure for movement relative thereto, the first and third elements coupled to the second element, the second element carried for bodily movement in response to movement of the first element by the door handle, the third element being rotatable in response to bodily movement of the second element; a rotary output element connected to the third element; the second and third elements having alternative coupling positions characterized in that in one position the output element is rotated clockwise when the handle is operated in either direction, and in the other position the output element is rotated counterclockwise when the handle is operated in either direction; and the second element being in the form of a slider coupled to be displaced linearly by the first element when the handle is operated.

Lever/knob actuated entry mechanism

Apparatus for transferring door opening or closing motion, in response to rotation of a door handle, and comprises: a mounting structure; first, second and third elements carried by the mounting structure for movement relative thereto, the first and third elements coupled to the second element, the second element carried for bodily movement in response to rotation of the first element by the door handle, the third element being rotatable in response to bodily movement of the second element; a rotary output element connected to the third element; and at least two of the first, second and third elements having alternative coupling positions characterized in that in one position the output element is rotated clockwise when the handle is rotated clockwise, and in the other position the output element is rotated clockwise when the handle is rotated counterclockwise.
