A blade element for a razor cartridge includes a blade support, a blade and a comb-like element. The blade support includes a base portion and a bent upper portion. The blade is arranged at the upper portion of the blade support and includes a cutting edge. The comb-like element includes a shaft and a plurality of teeth. The comb-like element is arranged parallel to the blade. The plurality of teeth extend parallel to each other form the shaft to beyond the cutting edge of the blade. Further, the comb-like element is disposed above the blade.

Blade elements

The present disclosure pertains to a shaving head comprising a frame and one or more cutting members arranged between a leading longitudinal side and a trailing longitudinal side of the frame. One or more of the cutting members are movable in a direction orthogonal to a shaving plane. The shaving head comprises an actuator member, which is configured to retract one or more cutting members relative to the shaving plane in response to a pressure exerted on the actuator member.

The present disclosure relates to a method of forming a razor blade and a razor blade. The razor blade extends along a longitudinal axis and comprises a cutting edge portion positioned along a second plane, a base portion positioned along a first plane that is different from the second plane, the first plane intersects the second plane at an angle. The razor blade further comprises a bent portion intermediate to the cutting edge portion and base portion, and an extended portion extending from the base portion away from the second plane. The cutting edge portion, base portion, bent portion, and extended portion are monolithically formed.

A razor cartridge comprising a first blade support and a second blade support, each of the first and second blade supports include a flat portion having a lower surface and a front end. A support plane S is tangent to the respective front ends of the first and second blade supports and the lower surface faces away from the support plane S. A first blade is attached to the lower surface of the flat portion of the first blade support. The first blade includes a first cutting edge. A second blade is attached to the lower surface of the flat portion of the second blade support. The second blade includes a second cutting edge. The first and second cutting edges are offset with respect to the support plane S.

Razor cartridge

A cartridge for a razor comprises at least one blade and a first blade support configured to attach the at least one blade to the cartridge. The first blade support includes a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion, a first optical feature provided on one or more of the first portion, the second portion, and the third portion. The first optical feature is selected from one or more of a color, a coating, a texture, a perforation, a transparency of the blade support, a light emitting source, a protrusion and a sticker.

A blade assembly including at least one blade support and at least one blade element having a cutting edge portion. The blade support includes a base portion and a flat portion. The flat portion extends at an angle with respect to the base. The at least one blade is attached to the flat portion of the blade support. The blade assembly further includes a lubricating element. A system and method for determining a level of wear of at least one blade of a razor cartridge, which includes a sensing unit measures an electrical parameter including one of (i) a total resistance of the at least one blade measured across a length of the at least one blade, and (ii) an electrical conductance of the at least one blade measured across the length of the at least one blade. A processing unit compares the measured electrical parameter to a reference electrical parameter and determines a level of wear of the at least one blade based on an amount of deviation of the measured electrical parameter from the reference electrical parameter. Information regarding the determined level of wear of the at least one blade is provided to a user by at least one of (i) a light indication, (ii) an aural indication, and (iii) a haptic indication.

System and method for electrically sensing shaving razor blade wear

A system for determining a level of debris accumulation in a region adjacent to at least one blade of a razor cartridge. The system includes a sensing unit to detect a measurement parameter which is one of an amount of light reflected from at least one area adjacent to the at least one blade, and an image of the at least one area adjacent to the at least one blade. A processing unit compares the detected measurement parameter to at least one reference threshold parameter and determines a level of debris accumulation in the at least one area adjacent to the at least one blade based on an amount of deviation of the detected measurement parameter from the at least one reference threshold parameter. Information regarding the determined level of debris accumulation is provided by at least one of a light indication, an aural indication, and a haptic indication.
