A printed circuit board assembly includes a printed circuit board, a number of electronic components mounted thereon, and a number of conductive traces electrically connecting the components to form a number of transmission channels. Each of the channels has first and second transmission routes for transmitting differential signals. Each channel includes a common mode choke, a pair of capacitors, and an autotransformer. The common mode choke includes a first coil series connection with the first transmission route and a second coil series connection with the second transmission route. The capacitors include a first capacitor series connection with the first transmitting route and a second capacitor series connection with the second transmitting route.

Stacked electrical connector

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing, a contact module, and a magnetic module. The insulative housing defines a receiving cavity forwardly communicating with an exterior plug and a mounting cavity located behind the receiving cavity. The contact module includes a set of mating contacts each having a contacting portion exposed within the receiving cavity and a set of mounting contacts for connecting to an exterior substrate. The magnetic module is received in the mounting cavity and electrically connecting the mating contacts to corresponding mounting contacts. The magnetic module includes a printed circuit board (PCB) and four isolated transformers surface mounted on a same face thereof. The four discrete transformers are arranged on a limited space of the PCB.

Electrical connector having surface mount transformers

A magnetic element () includes a board unit () including a paddle board () having a row of first conductive vias () and a row of second conductive vias () for insertion of terminals (), a number of embedded magnetic components (), and a number of SMDs (surface mount devices) () mounted on the paddle board by SMT (surface mount technology). An electrical component () includes a housing (), a number of terminals () molded within housing and at least one electrical element (). The housing has at least a side wall () having a number of recesses () and an internal cavity (). Each terminal has a first end () extending to a bottom of the side wall and formed with a platform portion () located onto the bottom of the side wall and aligned with the corresponding recess. An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing () and a terminal module () received in the insulative housing. The terminal module includes a daughter board (), a choke group, a number of mating terminals () mounted on a first side of the daughter board, and a connecting module () mounted on a second side the daughter board and having a number of connecting terminals (). The choke group has a number of transformer chokes () mounted to the second side of the daughter board, and a number of surface mount device chokes () adapted for being applied in automatic manufacture and mounted the second side of the daughter board.

The common mode chokes are surface mounted on the conductive section.
