Isolated DNA polymerases, kits and applications thereof

A thermosensitive nanostructure for hyperthermia treatment. Magnetic nanoparticles are encapsulated in a thermosensitive polymer nanostructure having a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of about 40-45&#xb0; C. The thermosensitive polymer nanostructure may carry a drug. When the magnetic nanoparticles are heated to 40-45&#xb0; C. by application of an alternating magnetic field in hyperthermia treatment, the thermosensitive polymer nanostructure collapses to release the drug, thus providing concurrent drug treatment.

Thermosensitive nanostructure for hyperthermia treatment

An apparatus and method for moving object detection computes a corresponding frame difference for every two successive image frames of a moving object, and segments a current image frame of the two successive image frames into a plurality of homogeneous regions. At least a candidate region is further detected from the plurality of homogeneous regions. The system gradually merges the computed frame differences via a morphing-based technology and fuses the merged frame difference with the at least a candidate region, thereby obtaining the location and a complete outline of the moving object.

Apparatus and method for moving object detection

A magnetic separation device, comprising: at least a test tube base, for receiving at least a test tube; and a magnetic member, pivotally connected to the at least one test tube base and capable of generating a magnetic force. With the aforesaid device, the test tube being received in the test tube base can be moved toward/away from the magnetic member while the magnetic member and the test tube base are driven to rotate about a pivotal end connecting the two, and thereby, the strength of the magnetic force applied on a mixture containing in the test tube by the magnetic member is varied accordingly.

Magnetic separation device

A magnetic separation device, comprising: a separator, including a top base and a bottom base; at least a groove set, each composed of two arc-like grooves having curvatures opposite to each other; at least a magnetic member, being movably fitted inside the two arc-like grooves of the at least one groove set; and at least a test tube slot, each being formed at the outer rim of a base selected from the group consisting of the top and the bottom base of the separator; wherein the top and the bottom bases are assembled by means of a pivotal axis piecing through about at the center of the top and the bottom bases for enabling the two bases to rotate relative to each other; and one of the two arc-like groove is formed on the top base at a surface thereof facing toward the bottom base while forming another arc-like groove on the bottom base at a surface thereof facing toward the top base. With the aforesaid device, the magnetic member can be driven to slide inside the groove set while the top and the bottom bases are driven to rotate relative to each other, thereby, the magnetic member can be moved between two positions whereas one is near the test tube slot and the other is away from the same.

In the structure above, P is X&#x2014;(CHCH&#x2014;O)&#x2014;, r is an integer ranging from 1000 to 4000, X is OH, NH, or OR, R is Cto Calkyl, Dis a residue of branched Cto Cpolyol compounds, n is the quantity of layers of the residue of branched compounds and is an integer equal to or greater than 1, L is a metal cation, Z is the residue of a Cto Ccompound with multi functional groups. The functional groups illustrated above can be carboxylic groups, amino groups, amide groups, or chelating groups. The carboxylic groups, ester groups, amino groups, or amide groups bind to D, and the chelating groups bind to the metal cations.

Dendritic compound and use thereof

The invention discloses a novel thermostable D-hydantoinase, and relates to the nucleic acid sequence, amino acid sequence and vector constructs of the enzyme. The thermostable D-hydantoinase of the invention shows about 45%-70% identity in amino acid sequence with other D-hydantoinases. The thermostable D-hydantoinase of the invention converts 5&prime;-substituted D-hydantoinase to the corresponding N-carbamoyl-D- and/or -L-&agr;/&bgr;-amino acids, and retains at least 50% activity after 30 days at 50&deg; C. In addition, the enzyme activity can also enhanced by certain divalent cations.
