A luminance adjustment apparatus for a plasma display panel (PDP) is proposed. The luminance adjustment apparatus includes a luminance controller, a gray level shifter and a power controller. The luminance controller outputs a gray level shifting signal and a power adjustment signal. The gray level shifter receives a first luminance video signal and the gray level shifting signal, after the first luminance video signal being level shifted according to the gray level shifting signal, a gray level shifted video signal is output. The power controller is used to receive the gray level shifted video signal and the power adjustment signal, after the gray level shifted video signal being power adjusted by the power adjustment signal, a sub-field controlling signal is output. This enables the preservation of image gradation when adjusting luminance of a video image.

Apparatus and method for luminance adjustment of plasma display panel

A plasma display panel, including a lower substrate and an upper substrate, is provided. The lower substrate includes a first substrate, data electrodes, a rib structure and a fluorescent layer. The data electrodes are disposed on the first substrate. The rib structure is disposed on the first substrate and covering the data electrodes. The fluorescent layer is disposed on a surface of the rib structure. The upper substrate is disposed over the lower substrate, and configures a plurality of first, second, and third discharging spaces with the rib structure of the lower substrate. The upper substrate includes a second substrate and bus electrodes disposed on the second substrate. Each of the bus electrodes includes electrode lines and connecting sessions to electrically connect the electrode lines. The bus electrodes corresponding to respectively the first, second and third discharging spaces are different in structure.

Plasma display panel for producing high color temperature white light and upper substrate thereof

A barrier rib structure of plasma display panel is disclosed. The barrier rib structure includes a plurality of vertical barrier ribs arranged in parallel, a plurality of first horizontal barrier ribs connected to one side of the vertical barrier ribs, and a plurality of second horizontal barrier ribs connected to the other side of the vertical barrier ribs, in which the first horizontal barrier ribs are disposed alternately with corresponding second horizontal barrier ribs for forming a plurality of double blockade structures. Additionally, a gas passage and a plurality of electrical discharge spaces are formed between the double blockade structures.

Barrier rib structure of plasma display panel

A rear substrate of plasma display panel comprises a substrate, a plurality of address electrodes, a plurality of auxiliary address electrodes, a rib and a fluorescent layer. The rib is disposed on the substrate to define a plurality of discharge spaces. Each of the address electrodes is disposed in each of the discharge spaces. The auxiliary address electrodes are disposed between the substrate and the rib. When an address signal is inputted to the address electrodes, the auxiliary address electrodes are grounded for reducing the probability of error discharge. During sustain period, the auxiliary address electrodes are coupled to a positive voltage for preventing ion bombardment of phosphors layer.
