An apparatus for processing a stereo three dimensional video includes a memory to store an encoded stereo three dimensional (S3D) video frame of the stereo three dimensional video, where the S3D video frame comprising a left frame, right frame, and depth frame. The apparatus may include a processor to retrieve a pixel (x,y) of the depth frame, the pixel (x,y) comprising a reference device depth(x,y). The apparatus may also include a device aware decoder component to determine pixel pair positions for a left pixel in the left frame and right pixel in the right frame based upon the pixel (x,y), and to calculate a target device disparity for the pixel (x,y), based upon the reference device depth(x,y) and a screen size of a target device to present the S3D video.

Techniques for stereo three dimensional video processing

An apparatus may include processor to retrieve a stereo three dimensional (S3D) frame of an S3D game, the frame comprising a red-green-blue (RGB) frame and depth frame; and an interest aware disparity mapping component to: generate a depth edge frame from the depth frame; and to generate a depth distribution diagram for the depth frame based on the depth edge frame, the depth distribution diagram defining a multiplicity of camera regions for generating a mapped S3D frame for a target device based upon viewing parameters of the target device.

Content aware video resizing is described. In one example, edge detection is done on pixel values of video frames. The edges are compared and an energy is determined for lines of pixels of a second frame based on the comparison. The low energy lines are selected, and the frame is resized using the selected lines. The lines correspond to either rows or columns and the resizing may be done by adding or removing columns or by adding or removing rows.

Content aware video resizing

In accordance with some embodiments, jitter accompanying video resizing, can be reduced or even eliminated by analyzing the content that is to be depicted and resizing based on the nature of the content being depicted. As a result, dominant objects in one frame can be handled in a way that reduces or eliminates video jitter or sliding.

Methods and apparatus for representing speech in an animated image. In one embodiment, key point on the object to be animated are defined, and a table of trajectories is generated to map positions of the key points over time as the object performs defined actions accompanied by corresponding sounds. In another embodiment, the table of trajectories and a sound rate of the video are used to generate a frame list that includes information to render an animated image of the object in real time at a rate determined by the sound rate. In still another embodiment, a 2D animation of a human speaker is produced. Key points are selected from the Motion Picture Expert Group 4 (MPEG4) defined points for human lips and teeth.
