Various embodiments of system and method for implementing a combination lottery and raffle game are provided. One embodiment comprises a method for a progressive lottery game that establishes an initial amount for a lottery jackpot and a raffle-triggering jackpot amount for a progressive lottery game, performing a first lottery draw for the progressive lottery game, and if there is not a jackpot winner based on the first lottery draw, increasing the lottery jackpot to a new amount. Otherwise, if the new amount exceeds the raffle-triggering jackpot amount, combining a raffle game with the progressive lottery game for a subsequent lottery draw. Alternately, the method includes adding a raffle-style game to a progressive lottery game when a winning jackpot reaches a predetermined raffle-triggering jackpot amount, and awarding at least one raffle prize when a draw for the progressive lottery game produces a winning jackpot.

Combination lottery and raffle game

A method of play and system of implementing a primary lottery game having a secondary individual game for a multiplier value of winnings of the primary lottery game and potential secondary winnings for the secondary individual game. A player enters the primary lottery game, which can provide a first monetary winnings, and then can enter a secondary individual game that, if won, provides either a multiplier value of first monetary winnings, separate secondary monetary winnings, or both. The possible total prize amount awarded to the player includes first monetary winnings awarded from the primary lottery game multiplied by any multiplier awarded in the secondary individual game, and any secondary monetary winnings from the secondary individual game. Alternately, a win solely in the secondary individual game can yield a separate award of secondary monetary winnings, regardless if the primary lottery game has winnings.

A system, method and lottery ticket that implement a lottery game that uses a geometric figure having a plurality of selection spaces from which a player selects at least one selection space. The selection spaces are then populated with one or more game indicia, with each game indicia having a point value, and prizes are awarded based upon the total number of points associated with the game indicia populated into the player-selected selection spaces. Other lottery games can also be played simultaneously therewith on the same ticket or round of play.

In one aspect, the invention is directed to a method for conducting a wagering game that may include receiving player input corresponding to at least one first entry for a player for at least one occurrence of the wagering game, randomly selecting a supplemental entry for the player for the at least one occurrence of the wagering game such that the total number of game indicia in the first entries and the supplemental entries is equal to a predetermined maximum number of game indicia. In one aspect, the invention is directed to a method for awarding at least a portion of a jackpot amount in a lottery game for a plurality of players. The method may include accepting an entry from each of the plurality of players for an occurrence of the lottery game, wherein each entry may include a first subset of numbers selected from a predetermined range of numbers, and determining an outcome for the occurrence of the lottery game, wherein the outcome for the occurrence of the lottery game may include a second subset of numbers selected from the predetermined range of numbers. The method may also include comparing the first subset of numbers for each of the entries to the second subset of numbers for the outcome of the lottery game, and determining the number of matched numbers for each entry between the first subset of numbers for the entry and the second subset of numbers. Still further, the method may include determining that none of the entries for the occurrence of the lottery game match every number in the first subset of numbers for the entry to a corresponding one of the numbers in the second subset of numbers, and awarding a share of the at least a portion of the jackpot amount to at least a portion of the entries for the occurrence of the lottery game wherein none of the numbers of the first subset of numbers of the entry match any of the numbers in the second subset of numbers for the outcome of the lottery game.
