An oil-in-water emulsion includes, for 100 wt % thereof: a) 0.1 to 10 wt % of an emulsifying system including, for 100 wt % thereof: (i) 5 to 95 wt % of the mixture of the reaction products of a reducing sugar and 1,12-octadecanediol essentially consisting of hydroxyl-octadecyl polyglycosides of formula (I): HO&#x2014;R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I) and of polyglycosyl octadecyl polyglycosides of formula (II): H-(G)-O&#x2014;R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (II), where, in formulas (I) and (II), G is the remainder of the reducing sugar and R is the divalent radical octadecane-diyl-1,12, and where n, m and p, identical or different, each are, independently of each other, a decimal number between 1 and 5; (ii) 95 to 5 wt % of 1,12-octadecanediol; b) 0.01 to 5 wt % of at least one thickening and/or gelling agent; c) 10 to 50 wt % of an oil phase; and d) 89.89 to 35 wt % of an aqueous phase.

Oil-in-water emulsion having improved sensory properties

The ocular tolerance of cosmetic, dermocosmetic and dermopharmaceutical compositions is improved by the incorporation therein of an effective amount of a polyol-glycoside or of a mixture of polyol-glycosides of formula (I): R&#x2014;O-(G)-H (I) in which: &#x2014;x represents a decimal number between 1 and 5 and G represents the residue of a reducing sugar, and Rrepresents a radical of formula (A) &#x2014;CH&#x2014;(CHOH)&#x2014;CH&#x2014;OH (A) in which n is an integer equal to 2, 3 or 4, or else Rrepresents a radical of formula (B) &#x2014;(CH&#x2014;CHOH&#x2014;CH&#x2014;O)&#x2014;H (B) in which m is an integer equal to 1, 2 or 3. Method of improving the ocular tolerance of foaming and/or detergent compositions for skin use

A composition and process of preparation of emulsifier agents based on an alkylpolyglycoside structure with a length of alkyl chain having from 6 to 12 carbon atoms to be used. The resulting emulsions exhibit an excellent dispersion of the fillers and/or pigments without it being necessary to add coemulsifier or dispersant. A thickener comprises a water-in-oil reverse emulsion and a copolymer having moieties derived (i) from a monounsaturated monocarboxylic acid monomer containing from 3 to 5 carbon atoms, the monocarboxylic acid either being in free form or in the form of an inorganic salt, and (ii) from a monoacrylamide monomer. The copolymer is in solution in the aqueous phase constituting the emulsion, the oil phase of this emulsion consisting of a mixture of at least one volatile oil and at least one non-volatile oil. The weight ratio between the volatile oil and the non-volatile oil is between 90/10 and 10/90. The oil phase represents from 10 to 60% by weight of the whole. Water represents from 30 to 70% by weight of the whole. The copolymer represents from 10 to 30% by weight of the whole and a surfactant represents from 5 to 20% by weight of the whole.
