A message notification method for a communication account of a communication platform is performed at a computer server. The method includes identifying a plurality of terminals that are currently logged into the communication account; dividing the plurality of terminals into active terminals and inactive terminals in accordance with their respective operation status information; acquiring, by the communication platform for each of the active terminals, a time difference between a receiving time at which the communication platform receives the operation status information sent by the corresponding active terminal and a time at which the communication platform needs to send a message to the communication account at the corresponding active terminal; and configuring, by the communication platform for each of the active terminals, first notification instruction information according to the corresponding time difference.

A message notification method for a communication account. The method includes logging in, by an active terminal and an inactive terminal, to a communication platform using the communication account, sending, by the active terminal, status information to the communication platform, the status information indicating the active terminal is active, sending, by the communication platform, a first message to the active terminal according to the status information, and sending, by the communication platform, a second message to the inactive terminal. The first message carries first notification instruction information instructing to output a strong notification message, and the second message carries second notification instruction information instructing to output a weak notification message, or to not output a notification message. The method further includes outputting, by the active terminal, the strong notification message according to the first notification instruction information.

A message synchronizing method, a message synchronizing system, a server and a client device are disclosed. In the method, a server acquires a shared message with an unread mark corresponding to a first communication account after at least one client device logs into the first communication account; the server sends the shared message with the unread mark to each of the at least one client device; if the server receives a read mark reported by any of the at least one client device after the shared message with the unread mark is read by the any of the at least one client device, the server performs synchronization, for the read mark, on each of the at the least one client device except the client device reporting the read mark. Message reading states among client devices for same communication account are synchronized.
