Provided is a washing apparatus equipped with an induction heater to heat a drum and a method of controlling the washing apparatus. The method includes a water supply step of supplying washing water to the tub via a water valve, a soaking step of soaking laundry by driving the drum while circulating washing water with the circulation pump after the water supply step ends, a heating step of heating the drum by driving the induction module after the soaking step ends, and a main washing step of washing the laundry by driving the drum after the heating step ends, wherein in the heating step, a water level is below a lower end of the drum, and the drum, the circulation pump, and the induction module are driven to operate, thereby heating the drum, the washing water, and the laundry.

Washing apparatus and method for controlling same

A clothes treatment apparatus directly heats a drum accommodating clothes. The clothes treatment apparatus includes: a tub; a drum, made of a metal, which accommodates clothes and is rotatably provided inside the tub; and an induction module, provided in the tub so as to have a spacing from a circumferential surface of the drum, for generating an electromagnetic field to heat the circumferential surface of the drum. Disclosed is a laundry treatment apparatus configured to condense moisture by supplying cooling water to the interior of a tub containing laundry therein. The laundry treatment apparatus includes a tub, a drum rotatably provided in the tub, a cooling water port provided at the inner rear surface of the tub so as to be adjacent to the inner side surface of the tub in order to supply cooling water along the inner side surface of the tub, and a guide rib formed so as to protrude from the inner side surface of the tub in a radially inward direction of the tub and to extend from the cooling water port toward the front side of the tub in order to disperse the cooling water supplied from the cooling water port on the inner surface of the tub. The apparatus is capable of reducing energy consumption and improving drying performance.

According to an embodiment, the method of controlling a laundry apparatus including a tub, a drum, an induction heating module mounted on the tub to heat the drum, and a circulation pump configured to pump wash water from the tub to the drum includes supplying wash water into the tub through a water supply valve, circulating the wash water by operating the circulation pump and performing fabrics soaking by driving the drum after termination of the water supply, performing heating by driving the induction heating module after termination of the fabrics soaking, and performing washing by driving the drum after termination of the heating, wherein the heating is performed while a water level of the wash water is lower than a lowest end of the drum, the heating including heating the drum, the wash water, and fabrics.

Laundry apparatus and control method thereof

Disclosed is a laundry treatment apparatus including a drum formed of a metal material and provided to accommodate laundry therein, an induction module spaced apart from a circumferential surface of the drum and provided to heat the circumferential surface of the drum via a magnetic field that is generated when current is applied to a coil, and a lifter formed of a metal material and provided in the drum to move the laundry inside the drum when the drum rotates.
