A microchip with flow-through inlet () and outlet () channels and test channels (). The test channels () are in fluid communication with the inlet () and outlet () channels, through inlets () and outlets () respectively. Each test channel () has one test site therein for detection of specific molecules or molecular interactions. The inlet () in a test channel () is elevated from the outlet () of the test channel () and the outlet () is elevated from a fluid level () in the outlet channel (). Back diffusion from outlet channel () to the test channels () and from the test channels () to the inlet channel () can thus be inhibited to reduce or eliminate cross-interference between different test sites. The microchip can be useful as a flow-through high density enzyme immunoassay array device with high-throughput.

Microchip and method for detecting molecules and molecular interactions

The present invention refers to a droplet-based miniaturized device with on-demand droplet-trapping, -fusion, and -releasing. The device makes use of different electrical fields for directing droplets into microwells and releasing them from the same. In another aspect, the present invention refers to a system comprising such a microfluidic device and a method of operating it.

The present invention refers to a method of manufacturing a micro patterned device. The method can comprise or consist of applying a light curable epoxy resin to a mold to obtain a curable resin filled mold. In a further step a polymeric film or an epoxy resin-coated glass is applied over the curable resin filled mold. Subsequently, the curable resin filled mold to which the polymeric film or the epoxy resin-coated glass is applied is irradiated to cure the resin. In another aspect the present invention refers to a micro patterned device obtained by a method described herein.

Method of manufacturing micro patterned device and device obtained by the method

A bioelectronic microchip formed on a substrate () includes a plurality of field effect transistors (), each including first () and second () electrodes on the substrate; and a channel () extending between the first and second electrodes. An organic semiconducting material fills the channel (); and a dielectric layer () formed atop the first and second electrodes and the channel. An electrolyte () to hold a probe molecule may be formed on the dielectric. A third electrode () in proximity with the first and second electrodes and isolated therefrom contacts the dielectric. Capture of target molecules may be detected at each transistor through changes in source to drain characteristics. The method provides high density and low cost sensors, particularly in diagonistic and drug discovery applications.

Addressable transistor chip for conducting assays

Addressable bio/chem chips include a plurality of isolated test cells, each addressable by at least two electrodes for measuring electrical characteristics of probe/test molecule interactions. In one embodiment, electrodes are located within a channel to allow for four terminal measurement. In another embodiment, electrodes are arranged in rows and columns and interconnected with electrolyte pads used as test sites. In yet another embodiment, electrodes are arranged in cells, with each cell including a counter electrode surrounded encircled by working electrodes.
