A display device includes a display panel and a lower member. The lower member includes a first support layer, a second support layer, and a cover layer. The first support layer includes a first support portion, a first protection portion extending from the first support portion, and at least one of a first groove and a first opening in a region of the first support portion and a region of the first protection portion. The second support layer includes a second support portion, a second protection portion, and at least one of a second groove and a second opening in a region of the second support portion and a region of the second protection portion. The cover layer is attached to the first support layer and the second support layer and corresponds to the first and second non-folding regions and the folding region.

Foldable display device having support structure with multiple layers

A display device includes a display module including a first non-folding area, a folding area, and a second non-folding area, which are arranged in a first direction, a cushion layer disposed under the display module, and a supporter disposed under the cushion layer. The folding area is disposed between the first and second non-folding areas. A groove that overlaps the folding area and extends in a second direction crossing the first direction is defined in the cushion layer.

A display device includes a display module including: a folding area, and first and second non-folding areas; a first support member bendable together with the display module and including: a bending area corresponding to the folding area, and first and second non-bending areas corresponding to the first and second non-folding areas; and a support layer facing the display module with the first support member therebetween, and including: a second support member in the bending area and the first and second non-bending areas; a first support plate facing the first support member with the second support member therebetween and in the bending area and the first non-bending area; and a second support plate facing the first support member with the second support member therebetween and in the bending area and the second non-bending area. A foldable display device includes a flexible display module and a first plate. The flexible display module includes a foldable area and the non-foldable area. The foldable area includes a first area, a second area spaced apart from the first area and disposed in at least two sides of the first area, and a third area disposed between the first area and the second area. The non-foldable area is disposed in at least two sides of the foldable area. The first plate is disposed under the flexible display module. The first plate includes a plurality of grooves overlapping the second area and penetrating the first plate. The first plate overlapping the third area does not include grooves.

A display apparatus capable of reducing a defect occurrence rate includes a display panel, a metal plate including an opening and located under the display panel to contact a lower surface of the display panel to support the display panel, and a filling layer filling the opening and including a material different from a material of the metal plate.

Display apparatus

An electronic device includes a support under a display panel. The display panel includes a first area, a second area, and a third area. The third area is spaced from the first area, and the second area is between the first area and the second area. The electronic device also includes an electronic module spaced from the display panel, with the support therebetween and overlapping the third area. The support includes first and second supports. The second support is on the first support and includes a first opening overlapping the electronic module.

A display device may include a first non-folding region, a second non-folding region, and a folding region. The display device may include a display member including a display module, a supporting member supporting the display member, an adhesion member disposed between the display member and the supporting member, and a compensation member attached to one of top and bottom surfaces of the adhesion member and overlapped with the folding region. Thus, it may be possible to provide a display device configured to reduce a stress, which is exerted on a folding region when it is in a folded state, and to prevent the folding region from being deformed to a bent shape when it is in an unfolded state.

The display device includes a display module which displays an image at a front surface of the display module and includes a rear surface, a folding area and a non-folding area extended from the folding area; and a supporter facing the rear surface of the display module and including a first portion corresponding to the non-folding area, a second portion corresponding to the folding area, and a boundary between the first portion and the second portion. The display module which is unfolded disposes the supporter bent at the boundary, and the supporter which is bent includes the first portion and the second portion together forming a curvature of the supporter having a center of curvature at the front surface of the display module.

A display device includes a display module, first and second supporters disposed under the display module and arranged in a first direction, spacers disposed between the first and second supporters, third and fourth supporters respectively disposed under the first and second supporters, hinge parts connected to the third and fourth supporters, sliding parts disposed in openings defined in the third and fourth supporters and connected to the first and second supporters, and elastic parts disposed in guide grooves defined in the third and fourth supporters and extending in the first direction from the openings toward distal portions of the third and fourth supporters.

A display apparatus includes: a display module configured to display an image and to be folded about a folding axis at a folding area defined on a plane; a support member below the display module; and a protective member between the display module and the support member. The support member includes a folding part overlapping the folding area and configured to be folded about the folding axis, and the folding part includes a plurality of joint portions extending parallel to the folding axis and connected to each other. Each of the joint portions includes a support surface supporting the display module, and when the support member is folded, a cusp point is formed between adjacent ones of the support surfaces on a cross-section.
