FBE-based licensed assisted sidelink access

Wireless communications systems and methods related frame-based equipment (FBE) communications in a wireless communication network are provided. A method of operating abase station (BS) includes transmitting a channel occupancy time (COT) indicator in a first fixed frame period (FFP) to a user equipment (UE) in frame based equipment (FBE) mode; transmitting downlink control information (DCI) during a window of the first FFP; and receiving uplink (UL) data from the UE during a second FFP following the first FFP according to the DCF A method of operating a UE includes receiving a COT indicator in a first FFP from a base station BS in FBE mode; monitoring a window of the first FFP; receiving a DCI during the window; and transmitting UL data to the BS during a second FFP following the first FFP according to the DCI.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a configuration indicating a set of encoding parameters corresponding to a constellation shaping encoding process. The UE may calculate a number of bits of a first subset of a source bit stream, and the first subset of the source bit stream may include or encompass an input to a distribution matcher. The UE may apply, to the first subset, a distribution matcher parameter based on the set of encoding parameters. The UE may calculate a number of bits of a second subset of the source bit stream, and the second subset of the source bit stream may be concatenated with an output bit stream of the distribution matcher as an input to a channel encoder. The UE may signal the source bit stream to the base station.

Constellation shaping configuration and feedback

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to another UE, a set of encoded packets associated with a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, wherein the set of encoded packets are generated according to a network coding scheme, transmit, to a relay device, the set of encoded packets associated with the V2X communication, and receive, from the relay device, an acknowledgment message based at least in part on transmitting, to the relay device, the set of encoded packets associated with the V2X communication. Vehicle-to-everything communications using network coding assisted by a relay

Mechanisms for directional channel occupancy monitoring for a frequency band among multiple networks are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes monitoring, in a shared frequency band in a plurality of beam directions, for signals associated with one or more wireless networks different from the first wireless network. The monitoring includes: detecting, in the shared frequency band and in at least a first beam direction of the plurality of beam directions, a first signal associated with a second wireless network; and up-dating a channel occupancy list to indicate that at least a portion of the shared frequency band is occupied in at least the first beam direction. The method also includes transmitting, in the shared frequency band, a second signal in a second beam direction of the plurality of beam directions based on the channel occupancy list.

Directional channel occupancy monitoring for spectrum sharing

Various aspects of the disclosure relate to encoding information and decoding information. In some aspects, the disclosure relates to an encoder and a decoder for Polar codes with HARQ. If a first transmission of the encoder fails, information bits associated with a lower quality channel may be retransmitted. At the decoder, the resulting decoded retransmitted bits may be used to decode the first transmission by substituting the retransmitted bits for the original corresponding (low quality channel) bits. In some aspects, to decode the first transmission, soft-combining is applied to the decoded retransmitted bits and the original corresponding (low quality channel) bits. In some aspects, CRC bits for a first transmission may be split between a first subset of bits and a second subset of bits. In this case, the second subset of bits and the associated CRC bits may be used for a second transmission (e.g., a retransmission).

Encoding and decoding techniques

In one aspect of the disclosure, a method of wireless communication performed by a receiving device includes receiving, from a transmitting device, a plurality of encoded packets each including at least one respective physical (PHY) layer symbol. The method includes decoding the plurality of encoded packets based on a raptor code to generate received data. The method also includes determining a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) associated with receiving the plurality of encoded packets, receiving an indication from the transmitting device, or determining a channel quality indicator (CQI) or a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) associated with receiving the plurality of encoded packets. The method further includes adaptively determining a PHY packet error rate associated with the plurality of encoded packets based on the SINR, the indication, the CQI, or the MCS. Packet encoding based on raptor codes to enable adaptive physical layer error rate determination or selection

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for transmission of downlink feedback information using downlink control information format 0_2 are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station on a first subband, a downlink control information (DCI) having a first predetermined DCI format or a second predetermined DCI format, in which the second predetermined DCI format has a length smaller than the first predetermined DCI format. The UE also may determine that the DCI indicates a downlink feedback information (DFI) based on one or more of an indication in the DCI or a first predetermined scrambling code associated with the DCI, when the DCI is received with the second predetermined DCI format.

Resource sharing between base stations and anchor user equipments on sidelink channels

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a device may select antenna elements from a planar array to transmit or receive an orbital angular momentum (OAM) beam. The device may determine a first area (e.g., a first ring area) based on an angular direction over which the device can communicate an OAM beam with a second device and may determine a second area (e.g., a second ring area) on the planar array based on projecting the first area on the planar array. The device may select a set of antenna elements from the planar array that are located within the second area. The device may determine a complex-valued weight for each antenna element of the selected set of antenna elements and may transmit or receive an OAM beam to or from the second device via the set of antenna elements according to the angular direction.

Generating and steering orbital angular momentum beams

Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication utilizing a modulation and coding scheme that selectively or dynamically applies probabilistically-shaped coding (PCS) to modulate a transmitted waveform. A communication device may determine whether to apply PCS. If PCS is to be applied, the device can encode the message based on a systematic code; and if PCS is not to be applied, the device can encode the message based on a non-systematic code. This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, related to transmissions during an idle period of a fixed frame period (FFP). For example, a UE can receive, via system information or radio resource control (RRC) signaling, a FFP defining an idle period. The UE can further determine that a physical random access channel (PRACH) occasion (RO) resource or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) occasion (PO) resource overlaps with the idle period of the FFP. The UE can additionally map the RO resource to the PO resource based on determining that the RO resource or the PO resource overlaps with the idle period of the FFP, and perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure according at least to the mapping of the RO to the PO.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink grant scheduling an uplink transmission that is not aligned with a fixed frame period (FFP) boundary configured for the UE. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) including an indication that the UE is to initiate a channel occupancy time (COT) acquisition in association with transmitting the uplink transmission. The UE may modify the indication based at least in part on the uplink transmission not being aligned with the FFP boundary and the indication indicating that the UE is to initiate the COT acquisition. Techniques for operation when a scheduled uplink transmission is misaligned with a fixed frame period

Wireless communications systems and methods related to cross Component Carrier (CC) transmission are provided that assist in minimizing PAPR. A first wireless communications device repeats data across multiple CCs in order to increase coverage while maintaining power levels within approved limits. In order to reduce PAPR, a number of different methods and mechanisms may be used. Rate matching may be performed across the multiple CCs as though a single virtual BWP. Alternatively, each copy of the data on its separate CC may be modified differently in some way, such as by using different scrambling IDs or different redundancy versions. Additionally, when utilizing DFT-s-OFDM modulation, an alternative method is provided which may lower PAPR. The DFT method includes performing a DFT on the combined data, tone mapping to each of the carriers, and performing an IFFT for each carrier individually. Each IFFT may be different than the other.
