Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a device may select antenna elements from a planar array to transmit or receive an orbital angular momentum (OAM) beam. The device may determine a first area (e.g., a first ring area) based on an angular direction over which the device can communicate an OAM beam with a second device and may determine a second area (e.g., a second ring area) on the planar array based on projecting the first area on the planar array. The device may select a set of antenna elements from the planar array that are located within the second area. The device may determine a complex-valued weight for each antenna element of the selected set of antenna elements and may transmit or receive an OAM beam to or from the second device via the set of antenna elements according to the angular direction.

Generating and steering orbital angular momentum beams

Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication utilizing a modulation and coding scheme that selectively or dynamically applies probabilistically-shaped coding (PCS) to modulate a transmitted waveform. A communication device may determine whether to apply PCS. If PCS is to be applied, the device can encode the message based on a systematic code; and if PCS is not to be applied, the device can encode the message based on a non-systematic code. This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, related to transmissions during an idle period of a fixed frame period (FFP). For example, a UE can receive, via system information or radio resource control (RRC) signaling, a FFP defining an idle period. The UE can further determine that a physical random access channel (PRACH) occasion (RO) resource or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) occasion (PO) resource overlaps with the idle period of the FFP. The UE can additionally map the RO resource to the PO resource based on determining that the RO resource or the PO resource overlaps with the idle period of the FFP, and perform a random access channel (RACH) procedure according at least to the mapping of the RO to the PO.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink grant scheduling an uplink transmission that is not aligned with a fixed frame period (FFP) boundary configured for the UE. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) including an indication that the UE is to initiate a channel occupancy time (COT) acquisition in association with transmitting the uplink transmission. The UE may modify the indication based at least in part on the uplink transmission not being aligned with the FFP boundary and the indication indicating that the UE is to initiate the COT acquisition. The UE may transmit the uplink transmission based at least in part on the uplink grant and after the modification of the indication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Techniques for operation when a scheduled uplink transmission is misaligned with a fixed frame period

Wireless communications systems and methods related to cross Component Carrier (CC) transmission are provided that assist in minimizing PAPR. A first wireless communications device repeats data across multiple CCs in order to increase coverage while maintaining power levels within approved limits. In order to reduce PAPR, a number of different methods and mechanisms may be used. Rate matching may be performed across the multiple CCs as though a single virtual BWP. Alternatively, each copy of the data on its separate CC may be modified differently in some way, such as by using different scrambling IDs or different redundancy versions. Additionally, when utilizing DFT-s-OFDM modulation, an alternative method is provided which may lower PAPR. The DFT method includes performing a DFT on the combined data, tone mapping to each of the carriers, and performing an IFFT for each carrier individually. Each IFFT may be different than the other.

NR-U for 6GHz band: PAPR reduction for cross CC transmission

Wireless communications systems and methods related to resource block set allocation for dynamic uplink communications in a wireless communication network are provided. For example, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment can include: monitoring, in a search space of a shared radio frequency band, for downlink control information (DCI); receiving, from a base station based on the monitoring, the DCI, wherein the DCI includes an explicit interlace allocation but does not include an explicit resource block set allocation; determining, based on the received DCI, one or more resource block sets for transmitting an uplink communication; and transmitting, to the base station, the uplink communication using the one or more resource block sets and the explicit interlace allocation.

Resource block set allocation for dynamic uplink communications in new radio-unlicensed (NR-U)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) determines system parameter information to initiate a sidelink communication. The first UE transmits, in one or more first subbands of a plurality of subbands within a shared radio frequency during a first time period, the system parameter information. The first UE communicates, with a second UE in a second subband of the plurality of subbands during a second time period different from the first time period, sidelink data based on the system parameter information.

Intra-user equipment prioritization of transmissions

A communication configuration is selected based on the bandwidth used by a wireless communication device during a random access procedure (e.g., on an unlicensed band). In some scenarios, the maximum transmit power that the wireless communication device can use may be significantly restricted (e.g., by a regulation). In some cases (e.g., when the wireless communication device is near a center of a cell), the wireless communication device may transmit the random access information using a default bandwidth. In other cases (e.g., when the wireless communication device is near a cell edge), the wireless communication device may transmit the random access information using a wider bandwidth (e.g., to increase the coverage of the transmission). In some aspects, the maximum bandwidth used for the random access procedure may be used to select at least one communication configuration that is used for a subsequent communication (e.g., data or control signaling).

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for distance-based channel occupancy time (COT) sharing. In one aspect, a first device, such as a user equipment (UE), may determine an approximate distance between itself and a second device. The first device may receive a COT sharing configuration including a set of COT sharing parameters for sharing a COT of the communications link with the second device based on the distance between the two devices. The first device may determine conditions for sharing the COT based on the COT sharing configuration and the approximate distance between the two devices. Additionally, or alternatively, the first device may determine conditions for sharing the COT based on the COT sharing configuration and a power metric of communications between the two devices.

Wireless communications systems and methods related to communicating ACK/NACK feedbacks for multi-user and unicast physical down-link shared channel (PDSCH) communications are provided. A UE may receive a multi-user PDSCH communication including a first transport block (TB) for the UE and may receive a unicast PDSCH communication including a second TB for the UE. The UE may determine a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) codebook for the first TB associated with the multi-user PDSCH communication and the second TB associated with the unicast PDSCH communication. The UE may transmit a first acknowledgement/negative-acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) feedback for the first TB and a second ACK/NACK feedback for the second TB based on the determined HARQ codebook.

Dynamic hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) codebook for multi-user packet (MUP) and/or unicast communications

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE) for establishing a sidelink communication channel and receive mapped channel state information-reference signals (CSI-RS) over a plurality of PSSCH resource blocks.
