The current invention provides a modular vector system that enables the insertion of gene expression cassettes in a recursive directional stacking fashion by rare restriction sites which requires only one type of vector. The invention also provides DNA molecules, compositions, and transgenic organisms, plants, plant tissues, plant seeds, and cells comprising recombined restriction sites for rare restriction enzymes.

Unique modular vector design

Methods are provided for preventing or attenuating pathoangiogenic conditions by administering at least one GBS toxin receptor polypeptide or at least one immunogenic fragment thereof. Also provided are a composition that includes a GBS toxin receptor polypeptide and a method for making such a composition. In another embodiment of the invention, immunized animals also receive GBS toxin, immunocompatible antibodies to the GBS toxin receptor, and/or expanded autologous T cells to the GBS toxin receptor. Also included in this invention are methods of identifying additional GBS toxin receptors.

GBS toxin receptor compositions and methods of use

Disclosed herein are transgenic plants having recombinant DNA which expresses a G1073 transcription factor which provides enhanced resistance and/or tolerance to water deficit. More specifically the DNA constructs comprise a polynucleotide which encodes at least a functional part of a G1073 transcription factor or a homologous transcription factor.

Transgenic plants

The invention relates to plant transcription factor polypeptides, polynucleotides that encode them, homologs from a variety of plant species, and methods of using the polynucleotides and polypeptides to produce transgenic plants having advantageous properties, including increased biomass or improved cold or other osmotic stress tolerance, as compared to wild-type or reference plants. The invention also pertains to expression systems that may be used to regulate these transcription factor polynucleotides, providing constitutive, transient, inducible and tissue-specific regulation.

Transcriptional regulation of plant biomass and abiotic stress tolerance

Synthetic modular polynucleotide constructs are useful for gene expression in plants, methods for making and using such constructs, and plants transformed with such constructs. The constructs comprise unique restriction sites for each modular element and may further comprise polynucleotide identifier sequences.
