A display inspection system for inspecting a light beam emitted from a panel with pixels positioned at several focal planes is provided. The display inspection system includes a focus tunable lens adjustable in a focal distance for focusing at the panel, a first sensing unit for receiving the light beam, a reduced aberration optical system arranged between the focus tunable lens and the first sensing unit for focusing at the first sensing unit, and one or more optical elements placed within a back focal length of the reduced aberration optical system. The reduced aberration optical system comprises a first serial cascade lens group of a first aplanatic lens and a first doublet lens for correcting an optical aberration. The first aplanatic lens and the first doublet lens are co-configured that the back focal length is extended in a manner that the light beam is incident to the first sensing unit.

Flexible display inspection system

The invention provides a chromatic confocal system for inspecting an object. The system comprises a first light modulator for providing a spatially modulated light beam arranged to project on one or more parts of the object to form a reflected light beam carrying image information of the one or more projected parts of the object; a second light modulator for spatially filtering the reflected light beam to form a light beam carrying filtered image information of the one or more projected parts of the object; wherein operation of the first light modulator and the second light modulator is synchronized such that the spatial filtering of the second light modulator varies in concert with variations in the spatial modulation of the first light modulator.

Chromatic confocal system and a method for inspecting an object

Optical inspection system detects defects of an object, such as an electronic device during manufacturing. The optical inspection system includes a first linear light source that irradiates a first light beam on a top surface of the object along a scan line across the width of the object. A second linear light source forms an angle with the first linear light source and irradiates a second light beam on a side surface of the object. A camera receives scattered light from the top surface and the side surface of the object and captures a subimage of the object along the scan line. An image processing system receives each subimage from the camera, stitches the subimages, and detects defects on the top surface and the side surface of the object.

Optical inspection system

An apparatus for inspecting a light transmissive optical component comprises an image capturing module arranged on a first side of a support configured to hold a light transmissive optical component while it is being inspected. One or more first illuminating means are arranged on the first side of the support and adapted to illuminate from a first side of a light transmissive optical component held by the support. One or more second illuminating means are arranged on a second side of the support and adapted to illuminate from a second side of the light transmissive optical component held by the support, the second side of the support opposing the first side of said support. One or more third illuminating means arranged on the second side of the support and adapted to provide transmissive illumination at the second side of the light transmissive optical component held by the support, the third illuminating means comprises one or more of an illuminating surface and a light blocking surface selectively operable and are arranged to face and substantially align with the second illuminating means on the second side of the support.

Apparatus and a method for inspecting a light transmissive optical component

An image projector for augmenting the appearance of a physical object is disclosed, also known as an augmented reality projector. The augmented reality projector comprises an optical arrangement to provide the possibility of precise matching of a projected image of the physical object back onto the object itself, instead of using digital image processing to do so. Digital image processing may be used to enhance features of the image and is not required for resizing or orienting the image to the object. This reduces the need for computational power to process the image and spares processing resources to refresh the image in real time. Accordingly, the processed image can be refreshed to change the appearance of a moving object. Furthermore, the precise matching provides the possibility of using projected images a graphical use interface, as movements of a user's fingers on the interface can be determined accurately.
