The UE may receive, from the first serving cell via Layer 2 control signaling, explicit multi-TRP information that indicates an activation of a second serving cell and a TRP associated with the second serving cell, wherein the explicit multi-TRP information indicates that the second serving cell is to be activated as a primary cell and the TRP is to be activated as a primary TRP. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive, via a first serving cell, a message including an indication to activate a second serving cell different from the first serving cell. The UE may receive, via the first serving cell, a control message indicating a first resource for transmitting a response message responsive to the message, and triggering a reference signal associated with time and frequency tracking for the second serving cell. The UE may transmit, via the first serving cell and within the first resource indicated via the control message, the response message acknowledging the message. The UE may then monitor a second resource of the second serving cell for the reference signal based on the control message.

Techniques for direct secondary cell activation using temporary reference signals

In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus at a user equipment (UE) in a non-terrestrial network (NTN) are provided. The UE may be configured to receive one or more timing advance (TA) commands from an NTN. In response to a transmission timing error between a transmission TA of the UE and a reference timing exceeding a threshold, the UE may be configured to transmit an uplink transmission with a timing change having a total timing adjustment, other than a propagation delay adjustment due to an NTN node position update and a network-controlled common TA value, that satisfies one or more threshold requirements.

Gradual timing adjustment for communication in NTN

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a message from a first non-terrestrial network cell indicating cell synchronization information for a second non-terrestrial network cell. In some examples, the cell synchronization information may indicate whether the first non-terrestrial network cell and the second non-terrestrial network cell are synchronized at a reference point. Additionally, or alternatively, the cell synchronization information may indicate a timing offset value between a first uplink time synchronization reference point of the first non-terrestrial network cell and a second uplink time synchronization reference point of the second non-terrestrial network cell. The UE may calculate a timing associated with signaling from the second non-terrestrial network cell based at least in part on the cell synchronization information. The UE may receive one or more signals from the second non-terrestrial network cell based at least in part on the calculated timing.

Timing synchronization for non-terrestrial network communications

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a coordinate switch indication that indicates that the UE is to calculate a first value of a new ephemeris coordinate of a plurality of coordinates. The UE may calculate the first value of the new ephemeris coordinate based on one or more other ephemeris coordinates of the plurality of ephemeris coordinates and may generate ephemeris information, associated with a non-terrestrial communication device, based on the calculation of the first value of the new ephemeris coordinate. Mechanisms for rate matching a downlink communication channel in a multi-radio access technology (RAT) communication scenario are described. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication performed by a base station (BS) includes rate matching, based on a rate matching pattern indicating a plurality of reserved resource elements, a downlink (DL) communication channel. The method further includes transmitting, to a user equipment (UE) on one or more antenna ports, a DL communication in the rate matched DL communication channel. The method further includes transmitting, on the one or more antenna ports, one or more signals in the plurality of reserved resource elements. The one or more signals transmitted in the plurality of reserved resource elements may allow UEs associated with other RATs to estimate the rate matched DL communication channel.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect, using a low-power receiver of the UE, a low-power synchronization signal (LP-SS) that is associated with a first coverage area that is larger than a second coverage area associated with a legacy synchronization signal block. The UE may monitor, using the low-power receiver, for a low-power wake up signal, based at least in part on the LP-SS, that is associated with a third coverage area that is larger than a fourth coverage area associated with a legacy wake up signal. Embodiments include methods of testing wireless devices for beam forming performance. Various aspects may include determining measurements of communication performance of the wireless device at each of a number of different angular orientations of the wireless device with respect to an antenna within a test chamber, and determining whether the wireless device satisfies beam forming performance requirements by comparing the measurements of communication performance to pass/fail criteria. Further embodiments may include a wireless device testing apparatus configured to perform testing wireless devices for beam forming performance. Aspects present herein relate to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE and/or a base station. The apparatus may identify at least one scheduling offset associated with a propagation delay between a base station of a NTN and the UE. The apparatus may also select a first scheduling offset of the at least one scheduling offset associated with the propagation delay between the base station and the UE. Additionally, the apparatus may transmit, to the base station, an uplink transmission based on the first scheduling offset, the uplink transmission being associated with a PUSCH, a PUCCH, or a PRACH.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may obtain updated location information, and determine a time difference between a previous communication with a network and a scheduled uplink transmission. Based on the determined time difference, the UE may determine a timing advance (TA) component of a TA value to apply for the uplink transmission, and transmit an uplink message in the uplink transmission according to the determined TA value and the location information. In some examples, the time difference may be based on a first duration between the uplink transmission and a previous uplink transmission, a second duration between the uplink transmission and a previous TA command received from the network, or both. In some examples, the determined TA value may be based on additional parameters, such as an autonomous adjustment step, an aggregate adjustment rate, a scaling factor, or any combination thereof.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a source base station, configuration information for a handover, wherein the configuration information indicates, for a target non-terrestrial cell, timing and synchronization parameters including a scheduling timing offset, a round trip time between a reference point and a target base station associated with the target non-terrestrial cell, satellite ephemeris information, an ephemeris validity duration associated with the satellite ephemeris information, common timing advance parameters, and a common timing advance validity duration associated with the common timing advance parameters. The UE may perform the handover with the target base station associated with the target non-terrestrial cell based at least in part on the timing and synchronization parameters for the target non-terrestrial cell. Timing and synchronization parameters for handover in non-terrestrial network

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for enhancing ephemeris for non-terrestrial networks. For example, UEs of different orbit propagation capabilities (e.g., computing orbit propagation models of different accuracy levels) may receive additional ephemeris parameters. In one aspect, a network entity may determine at least one additional set of ephemeris parameters that includes different ephemeris parameters than one or more basic sets of ephemeris parameters associated with a satellite that provides a coverage for the network entity. The network entity may transmit broadcast signaling indicating the at least one additional set of ephemeris parameters. The UE may receive and use the at least one additional set of ephemeris parameters in an orbit propagation model to compute a state of motion of the satellite.
