The method can include at least generating a handover request including an indication indicating a handover reason of no presence of quality of service (QoS) flow for a voice signal to the UE; receiving a handover command generated by an access and mobility management function (AMF) to transfer the UE from the 5GS to the EPS based on the handover request; transmitting the handover command to the UE for the UE to establish a connection with the EPS; and after the flow of the voice signal has terminated, re-establishing a connection with the UE to reconnect the UE to the 5GS, wherein the connection with the BS is re-established based on a target ID of the BS.

An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) to provide vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication. The UE includes processor circuitry that generates a registration request message in a protocol for a cellular network, a V2X policy provisioning request and an indication of PC5 radio access technology (RAT) capability for V2X. The UE also includes a transmitter that transmits the registration request message, the V2X policy provisioning request and the indication of PC5 radio access technology (RAT) capability for V2X to an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) in the cellular network.

Embodiments of an Evolved Node-B (eNB), User Equipment (UE) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The eNB may receive, from a mobility management entity (MME), a path switch trigger message that indicates an identifier of an eRelay UE for a relay arrangement for an eRemote UE. The eNB may determine whether the eRelay UE is served by the eNB. The eNB may, if it is determined that the eRelay UE is served by the eNB, transmit a radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message to the eRemote UE. The RRC connection reconfiguration message may indicate a switch from a direct communication to an indirect communication between the eRemote UE and the eNB. The indirect communication may be through the eRelay UE in accordance with the relay arrangement.

The processing circuitry may retrieve authorization information from a Unified Data Management (UDM) repository and apply a policy control function (PCF) to the authorization information and the V2X RAT configuration specified by the UE to determine whether the UE has been authorized to communicate using the indicated V2X RAT configuration. In response to determining that the UE is authorized to communicate using the indicated V2X RAT configuration, the processing circuitry may transmit V2X service authorization parameters corresponding to the indicated V2X RAT configuration to a Radio Access Network (RAN) base station servicing the UE.

The method includes receiving, by a source device from a UE, a registration request message indicating the UE is capable of a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication. Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for indicating local area data network (LADN) data network names (DNNs). In embodiments, a user equipment (UE) provides a list of configured LADN DNNs in a registration request message during a registration procedure. An Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) determines LADN information for the UE by looking into configured LADN DNNs in the AMF and/or retrieved LADN authorization/subscription information. The LADN information includes a list of LADN DNNs and corresponding LADN service area(s) that the UE can use, including LADN DNNs that the UE can use in a current registration area. Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), an Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods for communication are generally described herein. An UE may be configurable to operate as an eRelay UE. The eRelay UE may be configured to operate as a relay between an eNB and an eRemote UE. The eRelay UE may receive, from the eRemote UE, a message that includes an identifier of the eRemote UE for paging of the eRemote UE. The eRelay UE may determine whether a first paging message from the eNB includes the identifier of the eRemote UE. If it is determined that the first paging message includes the identifier of the eRemote UE, the eRelay UE may transmit, to the eRemote UE, a second paging message to page the eRemote UE. The second paging message includes the identifier of the eRemote UE.
