The electronic device includes a housing including an inner space, a hole formed through the housing to the internal space, a stylus pen insertable into the internal space through the hole, wherein the stylus pen includes a first wireless communication circuit and a wireless charging receiver circuit, a wireless charging transmitter circuit positioned inside the housing and configured to provide charging to the wireless charging receiver circuit when the stylus pen is inserted into the inner space, a second wireless communication circuit positioned inside the housing, at processor operatively connected to the wireless charging transmitter circuit and the second wireless communication circuit, and at least one memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein when executed, cause the processor to detect whether the stylus pen is inserted into the inner space, and start to provide charging for a first duration.

A thickness of the plurality of second conductive patterns may be thicker than that of the plurality of first conductive patterns.

An electronic device capable of sensing a contact by a peripheral device according to various embodiments may comprise: at least one coil configured to be linked to the peripheral device; and at least one processor configured to sense a contact by the peripheral device. The at least one processor may be configured to: detect a first reception signal from the at least one coil during a first period; apply a first transmission signal to the at least one coil during a second period after the passage of the first period; detect a second reception signal from the at least one coil during a third period after the passage of the second period; and check whether or not the peripheral device has been inserted in the electronic device based on the first reception signal and the second reception signal, wherein the first reception signal is not generated by the peripheral device, and the second reception signal is generated in response to the reception, by the peripheral device, of the first transmission signal.

An electronic device according to various embodiments comprises: a housing elongated between a first end portion and a second end portion; a resonant circuit having a coil placed inside the housing; a wireless communication circuit placed inside the housing; a rectifier for rectifying, to a direct-current power, an alternating-current power which is received via the resonant circuit; a battery which is charged by using the direct-current power; a switch for selectively connecting between the rectifier and the battery; a voltage detector which is set to detect the voltage value of the direct-current power and transmit, on the basis of the detected voltage value, a control signal for turning the switch on and off to the switch and the wireless communication circuit, wherein, when an interval of time between the control signals to be sequentially received from the voltage detector is the same or less than a predetermined value, the wireless communication circuit can be set to ignore at least one control signal to be received additionally after the sequentially received control signals. Digital pen for charging battery and method for operating same

Various embodiments relate to an electronic device including a button and a method for an operation in the electronic device. The electronic device may include: an elongated housing comprising a first end and a second end; a dielectric tip disposed at the first end; a button arranged on an outer surface of the housing; a first circuit connected to the dielectric tip and configured to receive a first electromagnetic signal from a touchscreen display of an external device and to transmit a second electromagnetic signal to the display of the external device; a second circuit configured to wirelessly receive and transmit a third signal; and a control circuit operatively connected to the first circuit and the second circuit. The control circuit may be configured to: detect pressing and/or touching of the button while the first electromagnetic signal is received through the first circuit and transmit the second electromagnetic signal while preventing the second circuit from transmitting the third signal; and detect pressing and/or touching of the button without receiving the first signal through the first circuit and transmit the third signal while the second signal is not transmitted.

An electronic device and method are disclosed herein. The electronic device includes a housing, a display exposed through a portion of the housing, a wireless communication circuit disposed in the housing, a processor disposed in the housing and operatively connected with the display and the wireless communication circuit, and a memory. The processor implements the method, including detecting an approach of a stylus pen in a lock state such that the stylus pen is disposed within a predetermined distance from a surface of the display, and changing the electronic device from the lock state to an unlock state based on at least in part on receiving, through the wireless communication circuit, a wireless signal generated by the stylus pen based on the approach of the stylus pen.
