An electrical connector includes an insulating body with multiple accommodating slots, and multiple terminals accommodated in the accommodating slots. Each terminal has an elastic arm, a floating contact portion and a conducting portion. The elastic arm and the floating contact portion are provided at an interval. One end of the elastic arm is connected with the floating contact portion through an insulating block. When each terminal is mated with a first electronic component and a second electronic component, the conducting portion is electrically connected to the first electronic component, the floating contact portion is electrically connected to the second electronic component, the elastic arm provides an elastic force such that the floating contact portion moves downward, and the floating contact portion and the conducting portion are directly electrically connected.

Electrical connector

A method of manufacturing an electrical connector is provided. The method includes: providing a terminal and a strip, where the strip is connected to the terminal, and the terminal is formed with an elastic arm, a floating contact portion and a conducting portion; then, insert-molding an insulating block, such that the insulating block connects the elastic arm and the floating contact portion; separating the elastic arm and the floating contact portion; further cutting the strip to separate the terminal from the strip; and providing an insulating body, where the insulating body is formed with at least one accommodating slot running vertically therethrough, and inserting the terminal into the accommodating slot. When the electrical connector is mated, the elastic arm provides an elastic force such that the floating contact portion moves downward, and the floating contact portion and the conducting portion are directly electrically connected.

Electrical connector and method of manufacturing the same

A method of manufacturing an electrical connector includes: providing a metal plate, and cutting the metal plate to form multiple base portions and pre-soldering areas; providing multiple conductive members, and soldering the conductive members to the pre-soldering areas; cutting and forming multiple elastic arms correspondingly according to locations of the conductive members in the pre-soldering areas as references, where a conductive terminal includes a base portion, at least one elastic arm and at least one conductive member; forming an insulating body on the conductive terminals by insert-molding, where the elastic arms and the conductive members are exposed from the insulating body; and forming the conductive terminals by cutting, where at least some of the conductive terminals are separated from each other and are not in contact with each other. The first electronic component and the second electronic component abut the elastic arms and the conductive members to deform and move.

An electrical connector includes multiple terminals formed by cutting from a metal plate and bending. The portion of the metal plate with the terminals being removed is defined as a base plate. Each terminal has a base portion and an elastic arm connected thereto. The base portion is at least partially horizontally provided to be coplanar to the base plate. A cutting slot is formed between the base plate and the base portion. A through slot is formed between the base plate and the elastic arm. An insulating body is provided with through holes running vertically therethrough. A portion of the cutting slot and the through slot are exposed in a corresponding through hole. The terminals include signal terminals and ground terminals. The base plate forms a connecting portion between the through slot and the cutting slot of each ground terminal to be connected to the ground terminal.

An electrical connector assembly includes a plug, having a body and multiple pins positioned on the body, and a socket connector including an insulating body. Each pin has an insertion portion extending downward out of the body. The insertion portion has a guide surface, and two contact regions located above the guide surface. The guide surface passes through a vertical center line of the insertion portion. Multiple accommodating holes run through the insulating body vertically. Multiple terminals are respectively accommodated in the accommodating holes. Each terminal is provided with two clamping portions. The guide surfaces guide the pins to be inserted downward into the accommodating holes. When each pin is inserted downward to a final position, the insertion portion is located between the two clamping portions, the two clamping portions are correspondingly in contact with the two contact regions, and the guide surface is located below the two clamping portions.

Electrical connector assembly and plug with guide surface for insertion into socket connector

An electrical connector is used for a plug having multiple pins to downward insert therein. The electrical connector includes a body provided with multiple accommodating holes running through an upper surface and a lower surface of the body; and multiple terminals correspondingly accommodated in the accommodating holes. Upper ends of the terminals are located at a same height, and lower ends of the terminals are located at a same height. Each terminal has two contact arms opposite and close to each other. The terminals include a first terminal and a second terminal. The two contact arms of the first terminal and the two contact arms of the second terminal are located at different heights and correspondingly used for the pins to insert downward therein successively. Thus, signal interference between the terminals can be reduced, and a maximum insertion force of the plug inserted into the electrical connector is reduced.

Electrical connector and electrical connector assembly thereof

An electrical connector is used for electrically connecting a chip module to a circuit board, and includes an insulating body provided with at least one accommodating slot, and at least one terminal provided in the at least one accommodating slot. The terminal has a first base and a second base formed by bending from the first base. An elastic arm is formed by bending upward and extending from the first base. The elastic arm is provided with a contact portion to be conductively connected with the chip module. The first base has a retaining portion located at a lower end thereof and extending downward. The retaining portion fits with the at least one accommodating slot to retain the terminal in the insulating body. A conducting portion extends downward from the second base to be conductively connected with the circuit board.

An electrical connector includes an insulating body provided with multiple accommodating slots. A reserved space is provided between and interconnects two adjacent accommodating slots. Multiple terminals are correspondingly accommodated in the accommodating slots. Each terminal includes a base and two arm portions having two clamping portions and two guiding portions. An oblique portion is formed by bending forward from the base and extending upward. A front surface of the oblique portion has a contact surface. The contact surface and the two clamping portions jointly clamp an insertion pin of a chip module. A rear surface of the oblique portion has a guide surface. A top end of the guide surface is higher than a bottom surface of the reserved space. The guide surface of a front terminal guides the insertion pin to be inserted downward, and the guiding portion of a rear terminal guides the insertion pin to move horizontally.

An electrical connector includes: a body, provided with multiple accommodating holes penetrating through an upper surface and a lower surface of the body; multiple terminals, correspondingly accommodated in the accommodating holes; and multiple solders. Each accommodating hole has two opposite shielding portions. Each terminal includes a base, two extending portions bending and extending from two opposite sides of the base, two contact arms extending downward from the two extending portions and toward each other, and two clamping portions bending and extending from two opposite sides of a lower end of the base. An upper end of the base is exposed upward to a corresponding accommodating hole. The shielding portions shield upper ends of the extending portions. The two contact arms are used for a pin of a plug to insert downward therebetween. Each solder is correspondingly clamped by the two clamping portions.

Electrical connector and electrical connector assembly capable of ensuring terminal positioning effect

An electrical connector is used to be electrically connected to a chip module, and includes a body provided with at least one accommodating groove. The body has a supporting block protrudingly provided upward at one side of the accommodating groove, and the supporting block is configured to upward support the chip module. At least one terminal is correspondingly accommodated in the at least one accommodating groove. The terminal includes: a first base accommodated in the accommodating groove; an elastic arm formed by bending and extending forward from the first base and located at one side of the supporting block to be electrically connected to the chip module; and a through slot running vertically through the elastic arm. The supporting block has a rear end. The first base is located behind the rear end. The through slot extends forward and does not pass beyond the rear end.

An electrical connector includes an insulating body, multiple terminals respectively correspondingly accommodated in the insulating body, and a shielding member provided on the insulating body. The terminals includes at least one grounding terminal and at least one signal terminal having identical structures. Each terminal includes a base, an elastic arm bending upward and extending from the base for being conductively connected with a chip module, and at least one strip connecting portion formed by extending upward from the base for being connected with a strip. The shielding member is provided with multiple holes for the grounding terminal and the signal terminal to pass therethrough, and at least one abutting portion corresponding to the strip connecting portion of the grounding terminal and protrudingly extending toward at least one of the holes so as to be in contact with the strip connecting portion of the grounding terminal.

An electrical connector configured to electrically connect to a chip module includes: a body, provided with at least one accommodating hole, where the body has a protruding block provided to protrude upward from one side of the accommodating hole, and the protruding block is configured to support the chip module upward; and at least one terminal, correspondingly accommodated in the at least one accommodating hole. The terminal includes a base, accommodated in the accommodating hole; an elastic arm, formed by extending forward from the base, located at one side of the protruding block, and configured to be electrically connected with the chip module; and a through slot, running vertically through the elastic arm. The protruding block has a rear end. The base is located behind the rear end, and the through slot extends forward beyond the rear end.

An electrical connector for electrically connecting with a chip module, which includes: an insulating body; and multiple terminals, respectively and correspondingly accommodated in the insulating body. Each terminal has: a base portion having a vertical plane; a first arm, bending and extending upward from the base portion toward a direction away from the vertical plane; a second arm, bending and extending reversely from the first arm and crossing the vertical plane, configured to abut the chip module; and a through-slot, running through the second arm vertically, where the through-slot at least extends to a bending location between the second arm and the first arm, so that the second arm forms two branches at two opposite sides of the through-slot, and the second arm has a beam connecting the two branches, so as to reduce self-inductance of the terminal, and improve a high-frequency signal transmission capability of the electrical connector.

An electrical connector for electrically connecting a chip module includes an insulating body, a signal terminal received in the insulating body, and a first and a second shielding sheets retained in the insulating body. The insulating body sustains a chip module, and the signal terminal elastically urges against the chip module. The first shielding sheet is located on one side of the signal terminal and elastically urges the chip module. The second shielding sheet is located on the other side of the signal terminal, and adjacent to the first shielding sheet. The first and second shielding sheets are communicated through an electric conductor. The second shielding sheet does not urge the chip module.

Miniaturized electrical connector for connecting a CPU

An electrical connector includes: a body provided with multiple ground accommodating holes and multiple signal accommodating holes running through the body vertically. The inner side surfaces of the ground and signal accommodating holes are electrically conductive. An insulating member is separately formed from the body, and is provided with multiple accommodating portions corresponding only to and accommodated in the signal accommodating holes. Multiple signal terminals are respectively provided with at least one positioning portion positioned correspondingly to one accommodating portion so that the signal terminals are not in contact with the signal accommodating holes. Multiple ground terminals have the same structures as the signal terminals, and the positioning portions of the ground terminals are positioned on the inner side surfaces of the ground accommodating holes, so that the inner side surface of each ground accommodating hole has a contact area in contact with the positioning portion of one ground terminal.
