A Plasma Display Panel (PDP), in which the precision level in shaping the display electrodes is improved by changing the shape of the transparent electrode, includes: address electrodes formed on a first substrate, barrier ribs defining discharge cells in a space between the first substrate and a second substrate and display electrodes, formed on the second substrate in a direction crossing the address electrodes, including a pair of line portions arranged on both sides of each discharge cell and having a pair of protrusion portions, facing each other, extending from the respective line portions toward the center of each discharge cell. The pair of the protrusion portions has rounded contours at both corners of each protrusion portion facing the paired protrusion portion and its radius Rof curvature at the corner satisfies the following condition: 0.05a=R=0.2a, where a is a width of the protrusion portion measured in the extending direction of the line portion.

Plasma display panel (PDP)

A plasma display panel minimizing the presence of electrodes outside the display area. In forming the display electrodes across the display, the electrodes extend to only one of the right or left side of the display area. In forming the address electrodes, the electrodes extend to only one of a top or a bottom side of the display area. By so limiting the amount of electrodes outside the display area, less electrode paste is consumed thus reducing expenses and the size of the glass substrate is reduced thus resulting in a more compact display. All of this can be achieved without reducing the display area of the display.

A manufacturing method of a plasma display panel is to form a transparent electrode pattern on a boundary portion between a display region and a non-display region when the transparent electrode pattern is formed by the laser ablation method. The method includes depositing a transparent electrode material layer on a first substrate, patterning the transparent electrode material layer in a display region to form a transparent electrode pattern in the display region, patterning the transparent electrode material layer in a boundary portion to form a transparent electrode pattern in the boundary portion arranged between the display region and a non-display region, depositing a metal conductive layer on the transparent electrode pattern in the display region, patterning the metal conductive layer to form a bus electrode, forming an address electrode and a barrier rib on a second substrate, and aligning and assembling a first plate that includes the first substrate to a second plate that includes the second substrate so that the address electrode and the barrier rib each intersect each of the bus electrode and the transparent electrode pattern in the display region.

Plasma display panel provided with alignment marks having similar pattern than electrodes and method of manufacturing the same

A plasma display panel comprising a first substrate and a second substrate provided opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween, display electrodes formed on the first substrate, address electrodes formed on the second substrate substantially perpendicularly to the display electrodes, barrier ribs mounted in the gap between the first substrate and the second substrate and defining a plurality of discharge cells, and phosphor layers formed using a phosphor layer material within each of the discharge cells. The display electrodes have bus electrodes running along a direction crossing with the address electrodes, and a cross-sectional shape of the bus electrodes is convex toward the second substrate.

Plasma display panel provided with improved bus electrodes

A plasma display panel that has electrode extending to a periphery thereof with a thickness and width that varies from the thickness and width of other electrode portions to enhance electrode resistance efficiency and discharge characteristics. That is, the electrodes in the display extend through a display area where visible images are generated into a non-display area around the display area where a connection to a driving circuit is made. The electrodes are designed to have varying widths and thicknesses that vary depending on whether the electrode is inside the display area or is outside the display area.

A display panel comprising a substrate, a plurality of first electrodes formed on a surface of the substrate and extending from a first portion of the substrate, and a plurality of second electrodes formed on the surface of the substrate and extending from a second portion of the substrate. The first electrodes and the second electrodes are alternately arranged in rows. The first electrodes include a shorted segment in the first portion of the substrate that couples ends of the first electrodes. The shorted segment includes an electrode formation region and electrode void regions. The electrode void regions are formed in a predetermined pattern in the electrode formation region.

A plasma display apparatus comprises: a plasma display panel including first and second substrates disposed in opposition to one another with a gap formed therebetween; a chassis base disposed on one side of the plasma display panel; and a drive circuit disposed on an opposite side of the chassis base for driving the plasma display panel. The first and second substrates of the plasma display panel form an overlapping region in which the first and second substrates overlie one another, and at least one pair of non-overlapping regions in which the first and second substrates do not overlie one another. The non-overlapping regions are asymmetrically formed about the overlapping region.

A manufacturing method of a plasma display panel and the plasma display panel made using the manufacturing method include the align marks being maintained in a discernible state. The method for manufacturing a plasma display panel includes forming electrodes on a substrate along one direction, and forming align marks on edges of the substrate, depositing a dielectric paste on the substrate covering the align marks, drying the dielectric paste, and baking the dielectric paste to thereby form a dielectric layer. The align marks are left fully remaining such that they are easily discernible, thereby making sealing and other processes easy.

Plasma display panel and manufacturing method thereof

An image display device for providing antireflection and electromagnetic shielding effects is disclosed. The device has a faceplate, a coating panel made of glass, a plurality of coating layers laminated on one surface of the coating panel for performing antireflection and electromagnetic shielding functions, and an adhering layer for adhering the coating panel to the faceplate. The adhering layer may be an ultraviolet curable resin.

A cathode ray tube (CRT) having a phosphor screen in which red, green, and blue phosphors are located in a black matrix in a pattern, at the inside of a panel, a low-reflectivity coating layer located at the outside of the panel, the low-reflectivity coating layer having a reflectivity of 2.0% or less near 480&tilde;600 nm, wherein the panel is glass containing neodymium (Nd) in a concentration of 0.1&tilde;1.5 wt % and praseodymium (Pr) in a concentration of 0.1&tilde;0.7 wt %. The CRT has improved brightness and contrast characteristics, and has an enlarged color reproduction range. Also, the problem of the unattractive color of the CRT itself under an external illumination is solved.
