A mobile terminal includes a main body having a front and a back surface. A sliding body is mounted on the main body so as to be slid face-to-face along the main body. The sliding body has a front surface with at least a key and a display and a back surface. A cradle means is connected to the sliding body so as to be pivoted between a flat position contacting the back surface of the main body and a slanted position spaced away from the back surface of the main body for supporting the main body and sliding body at an angle. A sliding guide module guides the sliding motion of the sliding body face-to-face along the main body.

Disclosed herein is a sliding/hinge apparatus for sliding/rotating type mobile terminals, which can be slid and rotated from a body housing of the sliding/rotating type mobile terminal. The sliding/rotating type mobile terminal includes a body housing and a slide housing slidably mounted on the body housing. The apparatus comprises first and second hinge frames mounted in the body housing by means of screws, first and second plates, one or more slide bars, and a coupling unit inserted through the center parts of the first and second hinge frames so that the first and second hinge frames are rotatably coupled with each other while being opposite to each other.

Sliding/hinge apparatus for sliding/rotating type mobile terminals

A cradle for a portable terminal is provided. The cradle includes a base, an inclined support installed on the base, and a connector. The inclined support supports the portable terminal when the portable terminal is mounted in the cradle. The connector has a protruding portion that protrudes toward one surface of the inclined support, and the connector contacts an interface connector of the portable terminal when the portable terminal is mounted in the cradle. The connector pivots on the inclined support.

A portable communication device is disclosed. The portable communication device comprises a first housing extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, a second housing rotated about a first hinge axis perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the first housing such that the angle between a bottom surface of the second housing and a corresponding top surface of the first housing varies, and a cylindrical hinge housing disposed at one end of the first housing while a portion of the cylindrical hinge housing protrudes outward from the first housing. The first hinge axis extends in the diametrical direction of the cylindrical hinge housing wherein the second housing is attached to the cylindrical hinge housing while the second housing is rotated about the first hinge axis. The cylindrical hinge housing has a second hinge axis extending in the axial direction of the cylindrical hinge housing so that the second housing can rotate about the second hinge axis. The second hinge axis is perpendicular to the first hinge axis.
