A refrigerator has a flow path structure formed by a heat-exchanger. The refrigerator includes storage compartments, and a cool air supplying unit provided at a rear of the storage compartments to supply cool air at the storage compartments, and the cool air supplying unit includes a heat-exchanger to divide a flow path at which cool air is provided to flow along the cool air supplying unit.

A refrigerant recovery operation method for use in a refrigerator in which a freezing chamber and a refrigerating chamber are independently cooled is disclosed. The refrigerator and the method for controlling the same provide for performing the refrigerant recovery operation not only when the compressor starts operation but also before the compressor stops operation. The refrigerator increases the refrigerant recovery amount within a predetermined pressure range in which the compressor can operate, and controls the refrigerant recovery operation time according to the outdoor air temperature.

The control method includes determining whether temperature of the ice making chamber is lower than a predetermined temperature and driving the ice making chamber circulation fan in a state in which the temperature of the ice making chamber is lower than the predetermined temperature and the refrigerant flows in the ice making chamber refrigerant pipe or when flow of the refrigerant in the ice making chamber refrigerant pipe is interrupted in a state in which the temperature of the ice making chamber is lower than the predetermined temperature.

A refrigerator includes a body provided with a freezing compartment, a refrigerating compartment and an ice making compartment provided in the refrigerating compartment; an ice making unit including an ice making tray to produce ice in the ice making compartment; an ice storage container to store the ice made by the ice making unit; and a refrigerant pipe protruding from an interior wall of the body to supply cooling energy to the ice making compartment. A drainage duct is disposed between the ice making unit and the ice storage container adapted to prevent water drops from the ice making unit falling into the ice storage container. The drainage duct include at least one fixer configured to push the refrigerant pipe to a lower surface of the ice making tray to contact the refrigerant pipe with the lower surface of the ice making tray.

A supercooled liquid tank is detachably installed in the supercooling compartment to supercool beverage. The supercooling compartment is installed in the rear side of the door such that a supercooling compartment door may be installed in the front side of the door to open and close the supercooling compartment in front of the door.

Refrigerator with supercooled beverage dispenser and method for controlling the same

A refrigerator which can control a supercooling degree corresponding to user's taste or kinds of food, and a cooling control method thereof are disclosed. The refrigerator has a function of supercooling a drink, and includes an input unit to select a slush level for adjusting a supercooling degree of the drink in response to a user's command, a memory unit to store information about a supercooling temperature of the drink corresponding to a selected slush level, and a controller to adjust the supercooling degree of the drink by controlling a temperature within the supercooling compartment based on the information about the supercooling temperature of the drink stored in the memory unit.
