An integer ambiguity resolution method includes: receiving SPS signals; determining, for the SPS signals, candidate float ambiguity values indicative of float numbers of carrier signal wavelengths of the SPS signals between respective satellite sources, of the SPS signals, and the mobile device; and performing, in response to failure of an integer ambiguity resolution validation check based on at least a first subset of the candidate float ambiguity values, an integer ambiguity search using at least a second subset of the candidate float ambiguity values; wherein each candidate float ambiguity value of the at least second subset of the candidate float ambiguity values corresponds to a second indication of candidate float ambiguity accuracy that is higher than a first indication of candidate float ambiguity accuracy, if any, corresponding to the at least first subset of the candidate float ambiguity values.

Carrier signal positioning

A first user equipment (UE) may receive a first set of beacon signals from a set of global navigation satellite system (GNSS) devices. The first UE may restrict growth of a position uncertainty (PUNC) value associated with the first UE based on a maximum vehicle speed and based on a lack of a reception of a beacon signal from the set of GNSS devices within a threshold period of time. The first UE may restrict growth of the PUNC value further based on a relative velocity profile associated with the first UE. The first UE may receive a message including a second relative velocity profile from a second UE. The first UE may calculate the relative velocity profile based on the second relative velocity profile.

Position uncertainty management during a lack of beacon signal reception

A method includes: receiving one or more positioning signals; determining that a UE is line-of-sight to fewer than a threshold number of positioning signal sources; determining a first position estimate hypothesis for the UE using a first position estimating process and one or more first measurements of the positioning signal(s); determining a second position estimate hypothesis for the UE using a second position estimating process and one or more second measurements of the positioning signal(s), wherein the second position estimating process uses a second parameter value of a parameter and the parameter is absent from the first position estimating process or has a first parameter value that is different from the second parameter value; and reporting a reported position estimate based on the first position estimate hypothesis or the second position estimate hypothesis in response to the UE being line-of-sight to fewer than the threshold number of positioning signal sources.
