The present invention provides a method for the preparation of an insensitive high enthalpy explosive Dihydroxylammonium 5,5'-bistetrazole-1,1&#x2032;-diolate (TKX-50) in the presence of N,N-dimethylformamide, N,N-dimethylacetamide, or N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone as a solvent via a four-step, one-pot reaction route to obtain a final product after four reaction steps. The more dangerous intermediate diazidoglyoxime may be solved by the one-pot method without the need of isolation. Further, the cyclization reaction is carried out in the presence of dropwisely added concentrated sulfuric acid to replace hydrochloric gas so no hydrochloric gas generator is needed to greatly reduce the amount of waste acid so as to effectively reduce the cost by avoiding using hydrochloric gas steel cylinders which require much safety equipment.

A method for producing 1,4-bis(dichloromethyl)tetrafluorobenzene is disclosed, which is achieved by reacting tetrafluoroterephthaldehyde, SOCland organic solvents. In the synthesis of 1,4-bis(dichloromethyl)-tetrafluorobenzene by adding formamides as catalyst, there are remarkable advantages which include shortening the reaction time; simplifying the synthesizing steps and raising the yield of the product.

A method for producing 1,4-bis(difluoromethyl)tetrafluorobenzene is disclosed, which has the following steps: (a) mixing 1,4-bis(dichloromethyl)tetrafluorobenzene, a catalyst, an aprotic polar solvent, and an alkali metal fluoride to form a reaction mixture; (b) heating the reaction mixture; and (c) purifying the resultant to obtain 1,4-bis(difluoromethyl)tetrafluorobenzene.

A method for the synthesis of TFPX (&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;', &#x3b1;&#x2032;-tetrafluoro-p-xylene) is disclosed, which comprises the following steps: (a) providing a sulpholane solution comprising TCPX (&#x3b1;, &#x3b1;, &#x3b1;&#x2032;, &#x3b1;&#x2032;-tetrachloro-p-xylene); (b) mixing the sulpholane solution with alkali metal fluoride, and phase transfer catalyst to form a mixture, wherein the phase transfer catalyst is quaternary phosphonium salt; and (c) heating the mixture.
