Disclosed is an air conditioner that can operate in a general cooling mode in which indoor air is cooled by heat exchange with a first refrigerant in a main evaporator, or alternatively in a fast cooling mode in which the indoor air is primarily cooled by heat exchange in a midway heat exchanger which includes the main evaporator for the first refrigerant and a fast cooling condenser for a second refrigerant, and then re-cooled in a fast cooling evaporator for the second refrigerant. Accordingly, fast and agreeable air cooling can be achieved.

Dual cooling mode air conditioner for normal or rapid cooling

An air conditioner, in which a controller is installed separately from a plurality of indoor units and a plurality of outdoor units so that only the controller is added and conventional outdoor units are used when plural indoor units are required, thereby reducing costs due to the omission of other outdoor units. The controller determines whether or not the outdoor units are respectively operated according to a signal of a temperature sensing unit, and selectively operates the outdoor units according to a required capacity, thereby increasing the operating efficiency of the air conditioner.

Air-conditioning system with multiple indoor and outdoor units and control system therefor

An air conditioner incorporates valve devices mounted in a plurality of indoor units, respectively, for allowing refrigerant discharged from an outdoor heat exchanger to be introduced into one or more indoor units that are in operation. The refrigerant is prevented from being introduced into the other indoor units that are not in use, and therefore, oil is prevented from being accumulated in the other indoor units that are not in use. Also, an appropriate amount of refrigerant is supplied to the indoor units that are in operation, and therefore, reliability and efficiency of the air conditioner are improved.

Air conditioner including a case having air inlet and outlet passages therein perpendicular to each other, and a plurality of air inlet and outlets at ends of the air inlet and outlet passages, a regenerative heat exchanger at a cross point of the air inlet and outlet passages for making indirect heat exchange of the external air and room air flowing through the air inlet and outlet passages, a compressor, a flow path control valve for shifting, and guiding a flow path of refrigerant from the compressor proper to respective operation modes, first and second heat exchangers, an expansion device, a first fan in the air inlet passage for blowing external air into a room through the first heat exchanger, and a second fan in the air outlet passage for blowing the room air to an exterior through the second heat exchanger, thereby ventilating as well as heating or cooling the room at the same time.

A driving method of an air conditioning system is disclosed. The air conditioning system includes a first cooling device combined with a heating function and having a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an expansion device, a passage control device and an interior heat exchanger, a second cooling device provided at an outlet side of the blower and having a cooling pad containing moisture and ventilating, a tank storing refrigerant, a pump, a sprayer and a filter, a control unit electrically connecting to the first and second cooling devices and a humidity sensor and alternatively driving the first cooling device and the second cooling device according to humidity of outdoor air delivered from the humidity sensor during air conditioning mode. The driving method of the present invention includes steps of measuring humidity of outdoor air at the humidity sensor when the power of the air conditioning system is on; comparing humidity of outdoor air with predetermined humidity; driving a first cooling device circulating refrigerant by using a compressor for cooling the interior when humidity of outdoor air is higher than predetermined humidity, and driving a second cooling device sucking outdoor air with low relative humidity, increasing the relative humidity through humidifying and cooling process and providing the air into the interior for cooling the interior when humidity of outdoor air is lower than predetermined humidity.

Air conditioning system and air conditioning method

An improved accumulator is disclosed, which includes a body having an empty space therein; an inlet tube inserted into the inside of the body from a top thereof, downwardly, for an inflow of a refrigerant to the inside of the body; an outlet tube inserted into the inside of the body from a bottom thereof, upwardly, for a discharge of the refrigerant to the outside of the body; and an isolating plate provided on an inner bottom of the body between the inlet tube and the outlet tube, for preventing the outlet tube from being splashed with the liquid phase refrigerant, and preventing the liquid phase refrigerant from flowing into the outlet tube.

Accumulator and air conditioning system using the same

Disclosed is a combined ventilating and air conditioning system, comprising: a first air duct for guiding outdoor air to the indoor spaces, the first air duct being capable of opening and closing; a second air duct for guiding indoor air to outdoors, wherein the second air duct is capable of opening and closing and installed in such a manner that part of the second air duct intersects with the first air duct; a third air duct for guiding the indoor air to the outdoors, the third air duct being capable of opening and closing; a regenerative heat exchanger, being provided in an intersection between the first and second air ducts, for exchanging heat between the indoor air and the outdoor air passing through the intersection; and blowing fans for controlling airflows, being provided in the first air duct, in the second air duct, and in the third air duct, respectively. The compressor mounted on the air conditioner is provided in the third air duct. The second heat exchanger is provided nearby the third air duct through which the indoor air is intaken, and the first heat exchanger is provided nearby the first air duct through which the outdoor air is emitted from the first air duct to the indoor spaces.

Combined ventilating and air conditioning system

Cooling/heating system of air conditioner including a duct having a first passage for drawing external air, and a second passage for drawing room air, the second passage having a part crossed with the first passage, a regenerative heat exchanger having first and second flow passages in the crossed part of the first and second passages for indirect heat exchange between the external air and the room air, a case connected to the first and second passages of the duct having first and second outlets for drawing/discharging external and room air, first and second fans for drawing in the external air and the room air into the case through the first and second passages, and discharging the external air and the room air through the first and second outlets, and first and second heat exchangers for heat exchange with the external air and the room air discharge through the first and second outlets, thereby preventing contamination and dried room air and reducing heat loss to permit cooling/heating even with small amount of energy.

Disclosed is an air conditioning system including a duct having an intake passage through which outdoor air is induced and a discharge passage through which indoor air is discharged, suction and discharging fans respectively installed in the intake and discharge passages, a dehumidifier having a desiccant wheel rotatably mounted on an opening of the partition, a regenerating heater for heating air induced into the dehumidifier, a regenerating heat exchanger provided on the intake and discharge passages in the vicinity of an indoor side with reference to the dehumidifier to heat-exchange air flowing along the intake passage with air flowing along the discharge passage, and a heat pump provided on the duct to heat-exchange outdoor air that has passed through the regenerating heat exchanger and discharging the heat-exchanged air to an indoor space.

An accumulator having a heater therein and an air conditioning system using the same is disclosed, in which the accumulator includes a body having an empty space therein; an inlet tube inserted into the inside of the body through a predetermined external point, for an inflow of a refrigerant to the inside of the body; an outlet tube inserted into the inside of the body from a predetermined external point, for a discharge of the refrigerant to the outside of the body; and at least one heater provided in the inside of the body, for heating the flowing refrigerant.
