Systems and techniques are provided for generating virtual content. For example, a process can include obtaining an image of a physical object in a real-world environment and determining at least one attribute of the physical object in the image. The process can include determining an interface layout for virtual content based on the at least one attribute of the physical object. The process can include displaying the virtual content based on the determined interface layout. In some cases, the process can including determining an input type based on the at least one attribute of the physical object, receiving input corresponding to the input type, and controlling displayed virtual content based on the determined input type.

Various embodiments include methods and vehicles, such as an autonomous vehicle, a semi-autonomous vehicle, etc., for collaboratively directing or configuring one or more headlights of a vehicle to avoid visually interfering with operation of an oncoming vehicle. Various embodiments may include receiving, by a first vehicle processor, a first collaborative lighting message from a second vehicle, wherein the first collaborative lighting message requests that the first vehicle direct one or more headlights of the first vehicle to avoid visual interference with operation of the second vehicle and directing one or more the headlights of the first vehicle in accordance with the collaborative lighting plan. Directing the headlights to avoid visual interference with operation of the second vehicle may include switching the headlights to a low-beam configuration.

Systems and techniques are provided for rendering virtual content in a scene. An example method includes determining a surface plane in a scene of a physical environment; rendering virtual content in a perspective at a location in the scene; rendering a content placement indicator associated with the virtual content on a first space of the surface plane, the content placement indicator indicating the first space for placement of the virtual content; determining one or more locations of one or more objects on a surface associated with the surface plane; and responsive to an input, rendering the content placement indicator on a second space of the surface plane, the second space being determined based on the one or more locations and input, the content placement indicator indicating the second space for placement of the virtual content.
