Aminoplast-polythiol compositions resulting from the contact product, or cured reaction product, of an aminoplast resin composition and a polythiol composition are disclosed. Typically, the polythiol composition contains thiol ester molecules having an average of two or more thiol groups per molecule. Methods for preparing the aminoplast-polythiol compositions, methods for using the aminoplast-polythiol compositions to produce coatings and to coat substrates, and coatings and other articles produced using these aminoplast-polythiol compositions also are described.

Aminoplast-polythiol compositions and articles produced therefrom

Polythiourethane polymer compositions, methods of making the polythiourethane polymer compositions, and methods of using the polythiourethane polymer compositions are provided. The polythiourethane can be produced by contacting a thiol ester composition and an isocyanate to produce a mixture and then heating the mixture to produce the polythiourethane polymer. In some embodiments, the thiol ester compositions include thiol esters, hydroxy thiol esters, and cross-linked thiol esters.

Polythiourethane compositions and processes for making and using same

Thiol ester compositions, methods of making the thiol ester compositions, and methods of using the thiol ester compositions are provided. In some embodiments, the thiol ester compositions include thiol esters, hydroxy thiol esters and cross-linked thiol esters. The thiol ester composition can be used to produce cross-linked thiol esters, sulfonic acid-containing esters, sulfonate containing esters and thioacrylate containing esters. The thiol ester compositions can be used to produce polythiourethanes. The polythiourethanes can be used in fertilizers and fertilizer coatings.

Poly(&#x3b2;-thioether ester) compositions, methods of making the poly(&#x3b2;-thioether ester) compositions, and methods of using the poly(&#x3b2;-thioether ester) compositions are provided. The poly(&#x3b2;-thioether ester) can be produced by contacting a thiol ester composition and an &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated ester to produce a mixture and then heating the mixture to produce the poly(&#x3b2;-thioether ester). In some embodiments, the thiol ester compositions include thiol esters, hydroxy thiol esters, and cross-linked thiol esters.
