Aspects of the present disclosure provides a wireless communication apparatus configured to handle adjacent-channel interference (ACI) and spur. The apparatus receives a signal utilizing a communication interface. The apparatus is configured to perform a single discrete Fourier transform (DFT) on the signal to generate frequency domain data. The apparatus is further configured to determine respective energy of a plurality of adjacent channels of the signal utilizing the frequency domain data. The apparatus is further configured to determine one or more potential interfering channels among the adjacent channels, wherein each of the potential interfering channels has an energy greater than a qualifying threshold. The apparatus is further configured to identify one or more dominant interfering channels from among the potential interfering channels. The apparatus is further configured to detect ACI based on the one or more dominant interfering channels.

Adjacent-channel interference and spur handling in wireless communications

A method for wireless communication is described. A slow associated control channel block is received. It is determined that the slow associated control channel block fails an integrity check. A correlation level between the slow associated control channel block and one or more stored slow associated control channel blocks is determined. The stored slow associated control channel blocks are set based on a maximum correlation level. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Enhanced slow associated control channel (ESACCH)

Access terminals are adapted to regulate power in wireless receiver circuits. In one example, access terminals include a communications interface with at least one wireless receiver circuit. A processing circuit coupled with the communications interface can receive a transmission during a Frequency Correction Channel (FCCH) frame. Following the received transmission, at least a portion of the receiver circuit may be powered down. A determination may also be made whether the received transmission was reliable. The receiver circuit can subsequently be powered up, and another transmission can be received on a subsequent channel. When the received transmission was sufficiently reliable, the other transmission may be a transmission during a Synchronization Channel (SCH) frame. When the received transmission is not sufficiently reliable, the other transmission may be another transmission received during a subsequent Frequency Correction Channel (FCCH) frame. Methods and devices for regulating power in wireless receiver circuits

Estimating an unknown frequency error of a tone signal may comprise sampling, within an error bandwidth, wireless signals including the tone signal that occupy the error bandwidth to generate signal samples, and repeatedly, for different frequency offsets: applying a frequency offset to the signal samples to produce offset values that represent the signals occupying an offset bandwidth equal to the error bandwidth offset by an offset frequency; estimating, within a frequency estimation range less than the error bandwidth, a tone frequency error using the offset values; and measuring a signal-to-noise ratio of the tone signal using the signal samples and the estimated tone frequency error.
