In a first aspect, a method for removing an electromagnetic module from an electrical machine is provided. The electrical machine comprises a plurality of electromagnetic modules having an electromagnetic material. The electromagnetic modules comprise base and a support extending from the base and supporting the electromagnetic material. The base comprises a bottom surface and a first side surface. The first side surface comprises an axially extending groove defining a cooling channel with an axially extending groove of a first side surface of an adjacent electromagnetic module. The method comprises inserting a rod in a cooling channel formed by the groove of the electromagnetic module to be removed and a groove of an adjacent electromagnetic module; releasing the electromagnetic module to be removed from a structure of the electrical machine; and sliding the electromagnetic module to be removed along the rod.

Method for removing an electromagnetic module from an electrical machine

Generator rotor comprising a rotor rim and a plurality of permanent magnet modules and a plurality of anchors arranged at an outer or inner circumference of the rotor rim such that the anchors substantially fix the permanent magnet modules to the rotor, wherein the permanent magnet modules comprise a base having a bottom surface, two axially extending side surfaces and a top surface, and one or more rows of magnets mounted on said top surface, wherein the two side surfaces of the permanent magnet modules each comprise an axially extending groove, and wherein the anchors have a shape that substantially fits exactly in axially extending grooves of neighboring permanent magnet modules.

Method of assembling a generator rotor of a generator

A permanent magnet module for an electrical machine extending along an axial direction is provided. The permanent magnet module comprises a permanent magnet assembly comprising at least one permanent magnet and a base supporting at least part of the permanent magnet assembly and extending from a bottom adapted to be positioned on a rotor of an electrical machine to a top along a radial direction. The permanent magnet assembly further comprises a first inclined permanent magnet portion and a second inclined permanent magnet portion arranged outwardly inclined along the radial direction and a tangential permanent magnet portion arranged substantially perpendicular to the radial direction.

Magnet module and electrical machine

A wedge mechanism including at least one wedge element and a guide member. The guide member is attached to the second assembly and adapted for receiving the wedge element in a way that and at least an inactive position of the mechanism is defined where the first and second assemblies can be detached from each other, and an active position where at least one of the wedge element and the guide member presses against two different sectors of the first assembly such that the first assembly and the second assembly remain attached to each other.

In a first aspect, a method is provided for manufacturing a permanent magnet module for a generator by using a mold with a resin inlet and a heating system for heating the inside of the mold. The method comprises placing inside the mold a module base with one or more receptacles for receiving permanent magnets, and inserting permanent magnets in the receptacles of the module base. The method further comprises closing the mold having in its inside the module base with inserted permanent magnets, and introducing resin into the closed mold through the inlet of the mold. The method still further comprises causing the heating system to operate for at least partially curing the resin. In a second aspect, permanent magnet modules are provided manufactured by performing any of the previous methods of manufacturing a permanent magnet module.

Generator rotor, assembly method and related insertion tool

It comprises a rotor and a stator that they both may be formed of a single piece or they may be formed of a number of sectors. The generator further comprises at least one active module unit as an independent unit from both the rotor and the stator. The active module unit includes at least one permanent magnet, a magnet support structure attached thereto, a first attaching mechanism to removably attach the magnet support structure to the rotor or the stator, at least one coil module comprising at least one coil winding and a magnetic core, and a second attaching mechanism to removably attach the coil module to the other of the rotor or the stator. The coil module is spaced apart from the permanent magnet a predetermined distance.

Generator for a wind turbine

A permanent magnet rotor comprises a rotor body configured for rotating around a central rotational axis and further comprises principal permanent magnets that are substantially rectangular in axial cross-section and are embedded in the rotor body and are arranged inclined with respect to the radial plane extending through the center of the principal magnets and such as to have a circumferential magnetic orientation. The principal magnets have an inner end and an outer end, the outer end being arranged in the proximity of the air gap of the outer circumference of the rotor, and outer bridges of magnetically conductive material being formed between the outer ends of the principal magnets and the outer circumference of the rotor. Auxiliary magnets are arranged near the outer ends of the principal magnets to magnetically saturate the outer bridges.

A permanent magnet rotor comprising a rotor rim and a plurality of permanent magnet modules arranged on the outer or inner circumference of the rotor rim, the permanent magnet modules extending generally along an axial direction and being of substantially constant axial-cross section, and comprising a base adapted to be fixed to the rim of the generator rotor, one or more permanent magnets, and one or more pole pieces, wherein each of the permanent magnets has a circumferential magnetic orientation and is substantially rectangular in axial cross-section and wherein each of the permanent magnets is inclined with respect to the central radial plane of the module.

The present invention provides a generator comprising winding arrangements, each winding arrangement comprising at least an inner coil and an outer coil constituting a concentric structure of coils. The inner coil is constituted by an inner conductor and the outer coil is constituted by an outer conductor, the inner and outer conductors being connected in series. The inner conductor, which is wound around a tooth, has a smaller electrical resistance per unit length than the outer conductor.

Method of repairing a winding in a generator, the generator having a generator rotor and a generator stator, wherein the generator rotor and/or stator comprises a plurality of windings, the windings comprising a stack of turns of a conductor around a tooth, wherein the method comprises cutting the winding on a side of the tooth to separate the winding in two parts; removing the two parts of the winding from the tooth; sliding a substitute partial coil on the tooth, the substitute partial coil comprising a stack of incomplete conductor turns having a first end and a second end, said first and second end positioned on the same side of the tooth; and connecting the second ends of each incomplete turn with a first end of the next incomplete turn using a plurality of conductor portions. The disclosure further relates to a kit for making a substitute coil.
