A lamp (), which can be used in rapid thermal processing (RTP), has a lamp envelope () arrayed along a longitudinal axis () and has a top () and a bottom (). A first coiled-coil filament () having a first lead-in () and a second coiled-coil filament () having a second lead-in (), are parallelly arrayed to each other and to the longitudinal axis () within the envelope (). A serial connector () joins the first and second filaments; and an electrically insulating support () is positioned near the bottom () of the lamp envelope (). The first lead-in (), the second lead-in () and at least a portion () of the serial connector () are sealed within the insulating supportwhereby the first and second lead-ins () and the at least a portion () of the serial connector () provide the only support for the first and second filaments (). In a preferred embodiment, the first and second filaments () have a wire diameter twice the diameter of a nominal CC6 filament.

Dual filament lamp for rapid temperature processing

A lamp may be formed with radial arm electrical contacts from a ceramic body insulating body supporting a lamp capsule. A press sealed tubular lamp is held in an end of the ceramic body. The radial arms extend sideways from the ceramic body and support electrical contacts, that may be brought into electrical contact in an insert and twist type socket.

A lamp () comprising an hermetically sealed, cylindrical envelope () arrayed about a longitudinal axis (); two filament supports () sealed in the envelop; a filament () fixed between the filaments supports; and an internal reflector () in the envelope for directing light emitted from the filament outwardly from the envelope.
