Cartridge imaging background device

Systems and methods for imaging and image-based analysis of test devices can include a background device for a lateral flow assay test strip. In one aspect, the background device can include a test strip portion sized and shaped to guide placement, on the background device, of the lateral flow assay test strip; a background portion at least partially surrounding the test strip portion; and one or more features of the background portion. The one or more features can include line detection fiducials, position fiducials, modulation transfer function fiducials, motion blur detection fiducials, and/or RGB balanced areas for evaluation of lighting conditions.

Systems and methods for imaging and image-based analysis of test devices

An image capture system and method for imaging biological samples disposed in culture media supported by a plate. The system has a calibration module, an image acquisition module and an image presentation module. When the system receives a culture plate for imaging, default values for the culture plate and media are used to begin image acquisition at a given time. The captured image is then used to create a pixel by pixel map of the image. The system inspects the pixel-by-pixel map for saturated pixels and for signal to noise ratio and acquires a new image if the number of saturated pixels is at or above a predetermined threshold or the signal to noise ratio for the pixel is below a predetermined threshold. From this inspection a new value of photon flux and/or exposure time is determined and a new image is captured using the new value and the steps are repeated. Upon a determination that a predetermined threshold signal to noise ratio has been obtained for the non-saturated pixels, or when the predetermined upper threshold for the time interval for image acquisition is elapsed the system provides a final image for the given time.

System and method for image acquisition using supervised high quality imaging

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a method for calibrating an imaging system for analyzing a plurality of molecular species in a sample. According to one embodiment, the method comprises acquiring a plurality of images of the sample with an image acquisition device at a plurality of different wavelengths, comparing a region of interest associated with at least one of the images acquired at one respective wavelength to a region of interest associated with at least one of the images acquired at a different wavelength, and aligning the plurality of images such that the region of interest associated with at least one of the images acquired at one respective wavelength corresponds to the region of interest associated with the at least one of the images acquired at a different wavelength.

Method for preparing quantitative video-microscopy and associated system

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a method for determining an amount of a plurality of molecular species in a sample, each molecular specie being indicated by a dye. According to one embodiment, the amount of a plurality of molecular species is determined by acquiring a plurality of images of the sample, determining an amount of each molecular specie, as indicated by a respective dye, for each pixel at each corresponding pixel location in the plurality of images, and refining the amount of a plurality of molecular species at one or more pixel locations in the plurality of images. Associated systems and computer program products are also provided.
