A method and an apparatus for data retrieval in a lightfield database are described. An acquiring unit of the apparatus acquires a sample data. An operation unit determines a plurality of two-dimensional (2D) images from each 4D lightfield data of the lightfield database, and match the sample data with the determined 2D images according to geometrical parameters of the sample data and geometrical parameters of the 2D images. One of the 2D images is selected as a target image based on the matching result, and the 4D lightfield from which the target image is determined is retrieved.

The present principles relate to a method and device for gamut mapping from a first color gamut towards a second color gamut. The method comprises obtaining a preserved key color (prsv_color) and a hue alignment angle (&#x2296;) of the key color (color) for each key color (color) of at least 3 key colors to define a preserved gamut and a rotated gamut; and performing a hue mapping of a current color (color) from the first color gamut towards the second color gamut wherein in case the current color (color) is in a preserved gamut defined by the preserved key color (prsv_color), the hue mapped current color is unchanged, and in case the current color is out of the preserved gamut, the hue mapped current color is calculated from the hue alignment angle (&#x2296;) of two adjacent key colors of the current color (rotated gamut) and from the preserved area.

Method and device for color gamut mapping

The present principles relate to a method and device for gamut mapping from a first color gamut towards a second color gamut. The method comprises, in a plane of constant hue, obtaining a target lightness for a color on the boundary of first gamut with maximum chroma, called first cusp color; and lightness mapping of the color from the first color gamut towards the second color gamut wherein the lightness mapped color is calculated from a parabolic function applied to the color, the parabolic function mapping the first cusp color to a color having the target lightness. According to a particular characteristic, a preserved chroma is also obtained; and in case the chroma of the color is lower than or equal to the preserved chroma, the lightness mapped color is the color, and in case the chroma of the color is higher than the preserved chroma, the lightness mapped color is calculated from the parabolic function applied to the color.

The present principles relate to a method and device for gamut mapping from a first color gamut towards a second color gamut. The present principles relate to a method and device for gamut mapping from a first color gamut towards a second color gamut. The method comprises, in a plane of constant hue, mapping the chroma of the color from the first color gamut towards the second color gamut at constant lightness. The chroma mapping further comprises obtaining a target color on the second color gamut boundary wherein the lightness of the target color is greater than or equal to the lightness of a color of maximum chroma of the first color gamut and wherein the lightness of the target color is lower than the lightness of a color of maximum chroma of the second color gamut. In case where the lightness of the color is greater than the lightness of the target color, the chroma mapping comprises mapping at constant lightness the chroma of a color on the first color gamut boundary by a decreasing function of chroma applied to lightness, wherein the respective outputs of the decreasing function applied to the lightness of the target color and to the lightness of the white are the chroma of the target color and the chroma of the white.

This determination comprises: defining key constant-hue leaves such as to partition the gamut mapping color space into angular hue sectors; for each key constant hue leaf, defining a key hue leaf chroma mapping function; for each angular hue sector, defining a continuous angular hue sector chroma mapping function such that, for any source color belonging to one of the two key constant-hue leaves delimiting this angular hue sector, this continuous chroma mapping function allows to map the chroma of said source color according to the key hue leaf chroma mapping function of the key constant-hue leaf to which said source color belongs. Preferably, this mapping functions are non linear polynomials.

Determination of chroma mapping functions based on hue angular sectors partitioning the gamut mapping color space

A method for creating a pair of stereoscopic images is described. The method includes using at least one lightfield camera which receives respective required camera parameters for a left view and a right view. The required camera parameters define a theoretical stereo image pair to acquire respective actual camera parameters for respective sub aperture images that are generated based on the captured image by the lightfield cameras, to determine a best matching sub aperture image for the left view by comparing the required camera parameter for the left view with the actual camera parameters for the respective sub aperture images, to determine a best matching sub aperture image for right view by comparing the required camera parameter for right view with the actual camera parameters for the respective sub aperture images, and to associate the best matching sub aperture image for left view and the best matching sub aperture image for right view as a pair of stereoscopic images.

Method and apparatus for creating a pair of stereoscopic images using least one lightfield camera

A method for inverse tone mapping is provided. The method comprising obtaining a digital image in a color space wherein the luminance is separate from the chrominance, determining a base luminance of pixels in the digital image, determining a detail enhancement map, determining a pixel expansion exponent map, determining an edge map of the image, inverse tone mapping luminance of image based on edge map, pixel expansion map and base luminance, and providing an expanded dynamic range image based on the inverse tone mapped luminance.

Method and apparatus for inverse tone mapping

An aspect of present principles is directed to methods and systems for gamut mapping source colors into target colors from a source color gamut towards a target color gamut. A difference may be determined source specific colors and corresponding target specific colors. A source hue of the source specific colors is adaptively changed towards a target hue of the corresponding target specific colors based on the difference to determine mapped specific colors. Color gamut mapping is performed for the source colors of the source color gamut towards the target color gamut based on the mapped specific colors. The specific colors are selected from primary colors, secondary colors, a group of primary colors and secondary colors. The difference is based on at least one selected from the group of hue, saturation and lightness of the source specific colors and the corresponding target specific colors.

The method is executed by an electronic device, and it comprises: determining a number of views based on a list of number of views supported by the auto-stereoscopic display device and at least an information indicative of a computing power of a device needed to deliver content for each view; obtaining a correspondence map between sub-pixels of the auto-stereoscopic display device and the number of views; and providing content to the sub-pixels of the auto-stereoscopic display device according to the correspondence map.

The method comprises obtaining color information of a first pixel in a color opponent space obtaining color information of a second pixel in the color opponent space, defining a half-line in the color opponent space based on the color information of the first pixel, and determining distance between color information of the second pixel and half-line in the color opponent space.

The present disclosure is directed to a method and a device for dealiasing borders in a 3D interpolated view, the interpolated view comprising at least foreground pixels with foreground video in formation and background pixels with background video information.
