A pipette guide for a standard well plate provides improvements over conventional guides. The improvements include: reference characters to signify a columns of wells exposed, an aperture for viewing those characters, a angled slot and open ended isolator for improved ergonomic function and visibility, a multilevel slide to help prevent contamination and a bi-directional selection assembly for selecting a 96 or 384 well plate.

An undulating mixing device for precise, controlled agitation of sensitive biological and chemical solutions provides a base and a platform connected by four flexible connectors, a spring loaded motor mount assembly pivotally attaching a motor to the base, a turntable rotatably attached to the base, a tilt assembly pivotally and rotationally attached to the turntable and rigidly affixed to the platform, and a motor shaft that engages a groove on the turntable for causing rotation thereof. The tilt assembly includes an adjustable collar which controls the tilt or yaw movement of the platform as the motor effects rotation of the turntable. A selectively adjustable speed control switch sets the desired rotational speed of the motor via a microprocessor. The device functions without modification on a plurality of selected voltages and frequencies for achieving the desired rotational speed.

Method of mixing utilizing a turntable

An easel for laboratory work having a transparent top and a furrowed bottom for support and better observation of laboratory equipment positioned on a counter or other horizontal surface. A cylindrical spacer is placed within one of the bottom furrows to bias the top at a desired angle for convenient viewing during precision laboratory operations such as when using a pipette. A friction pad can be placed on the top for securing a pipette well plate holder or other laboratory apparatus.

An undulating mixing device comprises a base and a platform connected by four flexible connectors which includes a base and a platform connected by four flexible connectors. The base includes a planar portion supporting an x-shaped housing. In the corners created by the x, the flexible connectors are attached to the planar portion of the base. A tilt assembly including a collar adjustably joins the base to the platform and controls the tilt or yaw movement of the platform as a motor moves the platform in a circular motion.

A cassette is provided which includes a combinatorial chemistry dish as used in chemical and biological laboratory work. The cassette includes a metal housing which is adjustable in that it can securely seal a variety of combinatorial dishes having different heights which contain liquid reagents. Planar inner seals placed against the dishes prevent leakage of the reagents while mixing and handling.

A low profile platform mixer has a variable number of platforms. The degree of pivot or tilt the platforms undergo can be changed as can the motor speed, depending on the particular laboratory solutions which are to be stirred or agitated. The mixer is made from stainless steel and is suitable for autoclaving to insure cleanliness and sanitation. A stainless steel base rigidly supports a pair of stanchions to which platforms are pivotally connected. The motor and motor controls are also mounted on the base and the motor extends above the height of the first or lowest platform for use in limited space environments.

High/low profile rocker

A laboratory container rolling device is provided which has a relatively low profile for use in confined spaces such as in refrigerators, ovens or other small compartments. Removable rollers allow the device to accommodate various diameter containers and the variable speed feature accommodates precise speed setting. Safeguards are provided to prevent container damage during extended usage to maintain the container properly upon the rollers.
