The volatile substance diffuser comprises a support () impregnated with the volatile substances, wherein at least one portion of the volatile substances is contained in at least first microcapsules () and second microcapsules () comprising a core () and a coating (), the diffusion times of the first and second microcapsules () being different to each other. It enables the diffusion time of the volatile substances to be increased.

A multilayer structure () for volatile substances diffusers includes a semi-permeable layer () that can be in contact with the volatile substances and a barrier layer () to prevent the diffusion of the volatile substances before removal of the barrier layer from the multilayer structure. The multilayer structure also comprises a tear layer () placed between the barrier layer () and the semi-permeable layer (), which permits the separation of the barrier layer () from the semi-permeable layer () when the barrier layer () is removed from the multilayer structure (). The tear layer provides a suitable interface strength between the barrier layer and the semi-permeable layer and allows for the secure and easy removal of the barrier layer from the semi-permeable layer.

A device for diffusion of volatile substances that includes a container for containing volatile substances, including the container, an aperture defining a sealing area, and a multilayer structure placed on the aperture. The multilayer structure includes a microporous membrane through which the volatile substances are diffused and a barrier layer that is removed before a first use. The multilayer structure also includes a sealing portion in contact with the sealing area. A device with a microporous membrane where the porosity of the membrane at the portion of the sealing area has been substantially reduced or eliminated to stop liquid transportation.

In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a housing having a notch for compressing the rupture element and breaching the rupturable substrate as it is inserted into the housing.

A device for evaporating volatile substances includes a wick () impregnated with volatile substances and a heating element () that heats the wick () for purposes of evaporating said volatile substances. A method of delivering a volatile material to the atmosphere in a continuous manner is disclosed. The container comprises a chamber closed by a flexible cover, and it is characterized in that said flexible cover defines a weakened area forming a seal between the chamber and the flexible cover, and in that the container comprises bending means for bending this weakened area so that the flexible cover separates from the chamber at the weakened area, opening said chamber. The container has the main advantage that it can be opened easily, just acting on the bending means.
