The present invention relates to a cosmetic or dermatological composition containing a continuous aqueous phase in which are dispersed vesicles based on at least one alkyl polypentoside, and also comprising at least one alcohol and at least one surfactant. More precisely, the cosmetic or dermatological composition comprises at least one cosmetic or dermatological active agent and at least one continuous aqueous phase in which are dispersed vesicles, The present invention also relates to a process for preparing the composition, which consists in placing a mixture comprising alkyl polypentoside, the surfactant and the alcohol in contact with an aqueous phase with stirring.

An emulsifying composition, characterised in that it contains by weight, excluding impurities, (i) 1 to 98% by weight of a mixture of alkyl glycosides R1O(G1)g(G2)g(G3)g(G4)g(G5)g, (ii) 1 to 90% by weight of a mixture of alcohol esters R2OZ, (iii) 1 to 90% of an alcohol R3OH, and (iv) 4 to 90% of a mixture of alkyl glycoside esters R4O(X1)x(Z)z(X2)x(Z)z(X3)x(Z)z(X4)x(Z)z(X5)x(Z)z, is disclosed In accordance with the composition, R1 is a hydrocarbon radical, linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, having 10 to 22 carbon atoms. G1, G2, G3, G4, G5 are identical or different residues of -oses selected from glucose, galactose, mannose, fructose, ribose, xylose and arabinose, g, g, g, gand gbeing equal to 0 or 1, the sum of g, g, g, gand gbeing at least equal to 1.
