A method and a system for fitting or adapting or matching a hearing aid to a user is provided to achieve a high level of acceptance of the user for the hearing aid. In a first step, an interoceptive awareness of the user is established and in a second step, a fitting process for fitting the hearing aid is defined based on the established interoceptive awareness of the user.

A method for operating a binaural hearing system having first and second hearing instruments includes using respective electroacoustic first and second input transducers of the first and second hearing instruments to generate first and second input signals from ambient sound. The first and second input signals are used to ascertain respective first and second instantaneous gain parameters. A first parameter of an automatic gain control for the first input signal and/or a second parameter of an automatic gain control for the second input signal is/are adjusted so that the adjustment results in a difference between the first and second instantaneous gain parameters being decreased. Signal processing for the first or second input signal using the thus adjusted first or second parameter of the automatic gain control is performed in the first or second hearing instrument. A binaural hearing system is also provided.

Binaural hearing system and method for operating a binaural hearing system

A hearing system includes a hearing instrument for capturing a sound signal from an environment of the hearing instrument. The captured sound signal is processed, and the processed sound signal is output to a user of the hearing instrument. In a speech recognition step, the captured sound signal is analyzed to recognize speech intervals, in which the captured sound signal contains speech. In a speech enhancement procedure performed during recognized speech intervals, the amplitude of the processed sound signal is periodically varied according to a temporal pattern that is consistent with a stress rhythmic pattern of the user. A method for operating the hearing instrument is also provided.

A hearing system includes a hearing instrument and a method for operating the hearing instrument. Therein, a sound signal is captured from an environment of the hearing instrument. The captured sound signal is analyzed to recognize own-voice intervals, in which the user speaks. The captured sound signal is analyzed, during recognized own-voice intervals, to determine a rate of speech of the user. The captured sound signal is processed in dependence of a set of signal processing parameters, and the processed sound signal is output to a user of the hearing instrument. The set of signal processing parameters is adapted if the determined rate of speech falls below a threshold.

Hearing system containing a hearing instrument and a method for operating the hearing instrument

A method operates a hearing instrument having an acousto-electric first input transducer and an electro-acoustic output transducer. A first input signal is generated by the first input transducer from an ambient sound. The first input signal and/or a first intermediate signal derived from the first input signal is resolved into a multiplicity of frequency bands. An output signal is generated from the first input signal, or from the first intermediate signal, by frequency-selective signal processing. A relevant subset of frequency bands is determined from the aforementioned multiplicity such that, in each frequency band of the relevant subset, an output sound generated from the output signal by the output transducer makes a contribution that lies above a predefined or desired threshold, further, with the aid of signal components of the first input signal, or of the first intermediate signal.

A method for directional signal processing for a binaural hearing system. In input transducers of first and second hearing instruments generate input signals from an ambient sound signal. A direction relative to a preferred direction and a distance from a reference point of the binaural hearing system are predetermined, to predetermine a focal point. First and second directional signals are generated from input signals by directional signal processing so that a direction of maximum sensitivity, starting from the first and second hearing instruments form respective a first and second yaw angles with the preferred direction. The yaw angles are adjusted via the directional signal processing of the input signals so that a superposition of the first and second directional signals has a maximum sensitivity in an overlap region that includes the predetermined focal point. An output signal of the binaural hearing system is generated based on the superposition.

A hearing device includes at least one microphone configured to capture sound signals within an overall frequency range and to convert them into an input signal. A signal processor is provided for processing the input signal within a lower frequency range that is part of an overall frequency range. A detector is provided for detecting a noise that has frequency components both inside and outside the lower frequency range, namely in an upper frequency range above the lower frequency range. The hearing device is configured in such a way that the detector detects the noise based on its frequency component in the upper frequency range. A method for operating a hearing device is also provided.

A hearing system contains a hearing instrument and the hearing instrument is configured to support the hearing of a hearing-impaired user. The hearing instrument is operated via an operating method. The method includes capturing a sound signal from an environment of the hearing instrument, processing the captured sound signal to at least partially compensate the hearing-impairment of the user and outputting the processed sound signal to the user. The captured sound signal is analyzed to recognize speech intervals, in which the captured sound signal contains speech. During recognized speech intervals, at least one time derivative of an amplitude and/or a pitch of the captured sound signal is determined. The amplitude of the processed sound signal is temporarily increased, if the at least one derivative fulfills a predefined criterion.

A method operates a hearing aid system in which a dynamic range scheme for an automatic gain control is modified depending on the situation. A gain factor is set by the automatic gain control which has a dynamic range processor operated with a dynamic range scheme defining the gain factor in dependence on a level of an input signal. A corresponding hearing aid system carries out this method.

A method operates a hearing device where a first directional signal and a second directional signal are generated in the hearing device from a sound signal of the environment. A parameter is determined based on the first directional signal and the second directional signal, which represents a quantitative measure of the stationarity of a sound signal. A noise-optimized signal is generated from the first directional signal and the second directional signal based on the parameter. The method is performed by a hearing device having a first microphone and a second microphone for generating a first directional signal and a second directional signal. The hearing device is configured to implement the corresponding method.
