The invention relates to a method for producing a lighting device, comprising the steps of: (a) weaving a fabric comprising warp and weft yarns that form the core of the fabric, weft- or warp-woven optical fibres within the fabric, said optical fibres being formed by a core and a sheath surrounding the core, and binding yarns forming part of the warp or weft yarns, maintaining the optical fibres inside the fabric; (b) treating the surface of the fabric comprising the binding yarns in order to form surface modifications on the surface of the fibres; (c) removing the optical fibres fully from the treated textile; and (d) inserting a portion of the fibres, grouped together in a bundle, into a translucent casing.

A vehicle, in particular road vehicle, luminous glazing unit includes a laminated glazing unit and a first light source at the periphery of the glazing unit, a luminous woven textile including warp yarns, weft yarns and optical fibers, the optical fibers being capable of emitting light sideways, the optical fibers protruding from a first edge face of the laminated glazing unit, and the light source is connected to the first free ends of the optical fibers. The woven textile has openings between the warp yarns, the weft yarns and the optical fibers, lets a fraction of the solar radiation through via the openings and has a clarity C of at least 75%. The luminous woven textile is in optical contact with the faces F2 and F3 of the glass panes of the laminated glazing unit.

The invention relates to a method for weaving a fabric containing, at least partly, glass-fibres as warp threads and/or weft threads, which are treated in such a way that they enable light to be diffused in a substantially perpendicular direction with respect to the longitudinal axis of the threads. The method includes a weaving of a Jacquard pattern forming a matrix for separating and identifying the feeding ends of a predetermined number of glass fibres, which are to be rearranged in bundles and connected to the same light source. The fabric produced according said method is also disclosed.
