The invention relates to mixtures of alkyl sulfosuccinate monoesters of general formulas (I) and/or (II), in which R represents a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated alkyl group having 6 to 22 C atoms, and X and Y independently represent a hydrogen atom or a cation that can form a water-soluble salt and is selected from among the group composed of alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonia, and organic ammonia. The invention is characterized in that the mixture contains 30 to 70 percent by weight of C16 alkyl sulfosuccinate monoester and 30 to 70 percent by weight of C18 alkyl sulfosuccinate monoester, the percentages by weight being in relation to the total amount of alkyl sulfosuccinate monoesters of formulas (I) and (II). The invention also relates to the use of said mixtures in cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical preparations.

O/W-gel-compositions having pentaerythritol esters or oligomers thereof

Cosmetic compositions containing esters of 2-ethylbutanol

A composition for cosmetic compositions which contains (a) at least one dicarboxylic acid diester of a C6-C13 dicarboxylic acid with a C12-22 fatty alcohol; (b) at least one oil component. The composition provides excellent antiperspirant and deodorant sticks when combined with an antiperspirant or deodorizing composition. Addition of a pigment provides cosmetic sticks such as lipsticks. The composition can be water free.

Antiperspirant composition based on dicarboxylic acid diesters of a C6-C18 dicarboxylic acid with C12-C22 fatty alcohols

A fatty acid ester of pentaerythritol, a pentaerythritol oligomer, or mixtures thereof, where the fatty acid has 6 to 22 carbon atoms, and the ester contains less than 0.3% by weight Cfatty acid acyl groups and has a melting point of at least 30&#xb0; C. is provided. A process for the production of a C/Cfatty acid pentaerythritol ester including (A) providing about 1.8 to about 2.2 mol of a fatty acid mixture per mol of pentaerythritol; (B) esterifying component (A) at temperatures ranging from about 180&#xb0; C. to about 250&#xb0; C. in an inert gas atmosphere in the absence of solvent to form a reaction mixture; (C) stirring the reaction mixture in vacuo until it has an acid value of less than 1 and an OH value of 145 to 158 is provided. A cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical composition including the above-described ester is also provided.

Fatty acid esters, processes for their production and for incorporation into cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical formulations

An emulsifier composition including an ester selected from the group consisting of: pentaerythritol, dipentaerythritol, tripentaerythritol, and mixtures thereof; at least one alkoxylated nonionic emulsifier; and less than 10% by weight water, where partial glycerides may be present in an amount of less than 10% by weight, based on the amount of component (a) present in the composition, is provided. A process for the production of an emulsion, including dispersing the emulsifier composition in an oil phase; heating the emulsifier composition dispersed in the oil phase to a temperature above the phase inversion temperature thereof; heating an aqueous phase to a temperature above the phase inversion temperature thereof; and stirring the oil phase with the aqueous phase and cooling to room temperature is also provided. A cosmetic composition including the emulsifier composition is also provided.
