A continuous choke for a flow control valve is provided. The continuous choke can be included in a fully electric, full bore flow control valve. The continuous choke comprises a housing comprising at least one opening, a sleeve comprising at least one opening aligned with the at least one opening of the housing, a piston slidable relative to the sleeve to progressively cover or uncover the at least one opening of the sleeve to progressively decrease or increase, respectively, flow through the continuous choke, wherein the piston is configured to slide distally relative to the sleeve to move toward a closed position, the piston comprising a plurality of channels configured to direct fluid flow.

Continuous choke for downhole valve

An electric gas lift valve may comprise a side pocket mandril. The side pocket mandril may comprise a side pocket, a top thread connection, and a bottom thread connection. The side pocket may accommodate one or more block valves, a linear electric mechanical actuator (EMA), and electronics. The one or more block valves may be configured to carry a case of a housing, a governor, a cam sleeve, a torsion spring, one or more venturis, one or more dynamic seals, and a solenoid. The electric gas lift valve may provide for an adjustable discrete flow rate control.

Gas lift system and method

A technique facilitates actuation of a downhole device, such as an isolation valve. According to an embodiment, the downhole device may be in the form of an isolation valve member, e.g. a ball valve element, actuated between positions by a mechanical section which may comprise a shifting linkage. Actuation of the mechanical section, and thus actuation of the isolation valve member, is achieved by a trip saver section controlled according to a pressure signature which may be applied from a suitable location, e.g. from the surface. The trip saver section comprises a housing having an internal actuation piston coupled with the mechanical section. The trip saver section further comprises a pilot piston and a plurality of chambers formed in a wall of the housing and arranged to enable shifting of the actuation piston in response to a predetermined series of pressure pulses or other suitable pressure signature.
